1957 Ford Thunderbird -- Description

This bird checks all the boxes- 2 tops, great colors, wire wheels, air conditioning, power steering and brakes! We acquired this car from the woman we sold it to 16 years ago. It's been very well cared for.
EXTERIOR: What a looker. Factory born Flame red, has white port hole hardtop. Kelsey Hayes wire wheels with the white walls really make it sizzle. This one even has the trunk mount antenna, it is full of factory bling! For being restored 20 years ago the body is still holding up really well. It's straight, I don't see any bubbling or cracking, doors fit real well. The paint has shiny high gloss red finish. Bumpers and all the trim are bright, shiny and straight. The door jambs are nice, weather strips are still soft. The iconic porthole top was restored and painted contrasting white. Has a reproduction white convertible top in excellent shape.
INTERIOR: The seat has new cushion and feels nice and firm. Of course it's been reupholstered, has red seat belts. The dash area is and very nice shape. The gauges, chrome bezels, machine turned trim all look good. The door panels and carpet have been replaced. Has the reproduction floor mats. A neatly installed aftermarket air conditioning system is mounted below the dash.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has been completely apart and restored. You can tell every bracket, nut, bolt and piece of hardware were apart. The engine bay is clean metal painted red. The engine has optional dress up kit which includes finned aluminum valve covers and chrome air cleaner lid. Two very desirable features are the power steering and power brakes. Modern a/c system was installed. Appears to be the original trim tag on the firewall.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Trunk floor is rock solid metal painted red. New looking plaid liner and cardboard side panels. Has a reproduction white wall that's never been used on a red painted rim. Has jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Not a detailed show chassis, but very respectable. The metal appears to be solid. The floors, braces, rockers look like they are clean original. Frame is smooth solid metal. The mechanical components are in order. Power steering system, brake hoses, front shocks, mufflers look more recent. The bottom of the motor is real clean. Has automatic trans and 3.10 rear end.
The T-bird was America's other sports car. To be competitive with the Corvette significantly more creature comforts were available. You couldn't get power steering, brakes or seat on a Vette. The 312 motor was bigger then the Vette's 283. That scoop on the hood is functional, it feeds fresh air into the carb. Great styling front to back!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
