Very Cool Early Bronco! 351 V8 w/ 5 Spd Manual! PS/B w/ Front Disc, Ready to Go!
1969 Ford Bronco 4X4 Description
The Early Ford Broncos pretty much created the modern SUV craze. There were others before the Bronco, but few combined utility, rugged good looks, and go-anywhere abilities as well as the Ford. This 1969 Bronco 4x4 is an excellent example of the breed, and it's set up properly with a lot of upgrades that make it a pleasure to drive, on-road or off.
Part of the Bronco's appeal is most definitely the look. Not too big, not too small, but just right to be comfortable yet maneuverable. Then there's the classic upright profile that's instantly identifiable from a mile away. Of course, this one has been augmented and features wide fender flares to cover the oversized BFGoodrich rubber and Mickey Thompson wheels and that six-point roll cage has gone from safety feature to styling statement in this truck's case when the hard top is off. The red paint job is enhanced with painted-on black stripes and is just right for the application, very nice and presentable but not so nice that you'll be afraid to take it out on the trails to have some fun. There's a giant brush guard/bumper up front that's pretty extreme, but it looks right at home on the squared-off Bronco, bookended by the matching rear bumper. There's also a set of hood pins on the cowl hood, HELA off-road lights on the front bumper, step bars on each side, a tubular rear bumper that looks clean, and diamond-plate accents on the body that add a little flash. These trucks were notorious for rusting in the most demonic ways possible, but this one appears to have been clean from the get-go and today exhibits no obvious signs of trouble, then or now. It's not overly ornate or showy, but it's definitely functional and fun and has a killer look.
The interior has been tastefully modified without diminishing any of the truck's legendary functionality. Durable carpet protects the floors and reduces road noise, diamond-plate accents are on the door panels, rear panels, and headliner, and the black-and-gold painted dash is protected by a thick dash pad up top. It doesn't stop there though, with upgrades like the high-back race buckets up front, a sporty aftermarket steering wheel mounted on a tilt column, and the painted six-point roll cage add a whole new dimension inside. There's also a full array of original gauges, switches, and toggles to monitor the truck's vitals, a column-mounted tachometer that keeps an eye on revs, and a matching back seat, so you can take the party with you wherever you go. This truck also includes a snug-fitting hard top that comes right off with the help of a couple friends, so there's always the option of open-air motoring, and a neatly hidden stereo with speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier provide the tunes.
Early Broncos were saddled with a slight inline-six, but this one is powered by a thumping 351 cubic inch Windsor V8, which is built to have fun in the dirt or to conquer the asphalt. Clearly upgraded from its stock configuration, it includes goodies like a Holley electronic fuel injection system, long-tube headers, and an upgraded ignition system that will probably even fire underwater. Dressed up with finned valve covers and a matching air cleaner on the Ford Blue painted block, and diamond plate accents on top of the inner fenders, the engine bay has a functional look that's only a little flashy, and power steering and power front disc brakes make it easy to wheel around the underbrush. There's also a giant aluminum radiator with an electric fan up front that means slow-going in the rough isn't a problem. Underneath, it's fully equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 2-speed transfer case, heavy-duty axles, shocks, and springs, and a modest lift kit that allows the use of giant 33x12.5x15 BFGoodrich off-road tires wrapped around blacked-out Mickey Thompson wheels that look like they could climb a wall.
If you're looking for a trail-ready Early Bronco, this one is ready to roll and built for fun. You can leave the show fields to the other guys and just get busy having fun in the dirt thanks to this truck's awesome build. Call today!
