1991 Ford F-250 4x4 5.8l forestry truck, Rebuilt Trans, rebuilt eng
1991 Ford F-250 Standard Cab Description
1991 Ford F-250 5.8 liter 351 4x4. Standard Cab with Tan dash and a seat from a blue interior truck as you can see in pix.Has a C6 Auto.Originally purchased by the forestry service. Was then sold to a dealer who then sold to me. I’ve spent almost $3k getting rid of all leaks and getting AC running. It is not a perfect truck at all, but it is solid and decent. The odometer and vin history only show 24k but the odo is a 5 digit so it is probably more. The transmission and engine have both been rebuilt at some point. I found a jasper tag on the trans, there is also one on the engine bay. You may be able to look up the rebuilds using these. All maintenance has been performed.Trans pan gasket and intake upper gasket as well as valve cover gaskets all recently done. Power steering limes and trans cooler lines replaced.AC lines replaced.Compressor and condenser are newer and are converted to r134a.This is a 3-speed C6 Auto.8 bolt Heavy Duty hubs.4wd was checked By mechanic.Rear brakes recently done. Fronts done 3k miles ago.The u joints, drag links and tie rods and ball joints all replaced.Starter, starter solenoid and alternator as well as batt cables all replaced.Blower motor and blower resistor new. EGR and EGR tube replaced.Brakes are good all around.Has full sized spare in bed.Needs a new bottle jack, the old one was lost. The body is very straight as you can see in the pics. It is a good looking truck close up :).Remaining Issues:Check engine light comes on for about a minute once warm, then turns off. The code says the vacuum signal is not getting received but all of those components are working so I have no idea what is causing the code.Washer fluid doesn't spray for some reason. Wipers are new and work fine.Volt meter does mot give accurate readings for some reason. (known Ford issue)I have checked for voltage drop and it stays at 14 volts charge no matter what accessories are running but it reports at gauge that it is any where from 8-14 volts and bounces around. On the forums everyone says this is a known issue on f-series and broncos but no one posts a solution. It does not effect the truck so I don't care. There is still some slop in the steering stabilizers. Also the shocks need to be replaced. There is a small tear on the seat driver's side. The AC is stuck on defrost vent.Paint is newer and looks good.Have clean title and door and ignition keys. It’s a great work truck or farm truck. No leaks. Reliable. Minimal rust.I may continue to fix things until it sells.Feel free to ask any questions.Buyer is responsible for Pickup, I can meet your driver nearby in Austin. There is no warranty. I have been as honest as possible to avoid any confusion or frustration.I like this truck a lot, but I have a baby coming in June and four vehicles so it is time to get rid of something.
