1973 Ford Mustang Grande, Light Green w/White Vinyl Top, 5.0L V8 Engine
1973 Ford Mustang Grande Description
I have the Bill of Sale and the original build order from the factory, but no title, registration, inspection, emissions, or any other paperwork. This car will not need to meet modern safety or emissions standards because it is a classic car. The buyer is responsible for coordinating and funding transportation of the car. I have the ignition key and trunk key, as well as the security wheel lock key.
This car was manufactured in February of 1973, I have the build order from the factory with lots of interesting details on it, and also have the original 4 rims and spare with a jack. I do not know the car's history until 1991 when a friend's uncle stored it in his barn in southern Massachusetts and let it sit there for 28 years. In March 2019, it was sold to a different friend's step father, and he fixed up the engine so it runs, using parts from Ford and parts made for this engine. In October 2019, I bought it and had it towed to my family's mechanic to have it assessed.
I cleaned out the trunk and interior of nuts and debris from mice and squirrels (long story), and also cleaned out or removed almost all of the mold/mildew that had grown from the moisture in the barn. It starts and runs for a while, but shifting into D for drive is problematic because then the engine gets cranky.
Known Problems: (I won't be able to list all the things that really should be taken care of, just the basic things)- Rust- Needs brakes- Needs tires- Needs fuel tank/fuel line- Suspension (ie: shocks, maybe new leaf springs)- Transmission (ie: gear box, transfer case)- Interior carpet missing (I ripped it out because there was some mold on it, the seats seem fine)- Engine (ie: gaskets, seals, filters)
As for the good news: it does run, it can drive but not for long, the body panels, vinyl top, doors, front seats, steering wheel, pedals, windows, engine, etc. are all good condition and can easily be reused. The transmission and suspension components are a bit iffy, but can be used to build off of. Everything is original to the car except for the engine parts that were purchased and installed by a previous owner as already mentioned.
