1966 ford mustang. outstanding metal CA car w/ many new parts. restore or parts
1966 Ford Mustang Description
1966 Ford Mustang project car. Provided is a detailed description of the car. No surprises. I have included the good aspects of the car along with the work needed, parts included and known parts missing. I bought this car with the intent to finish the restoration but I no longer have access to a facility and the car is in the carport. It needs to be saved or used to save a rusty rare car.Body and interior.Clean and dry California car that has been off the road since the early 80's. Check out the pics. Very tough to find metal this good on a 66. Window areas, rocker panels, and frame sections are all solid and rust free. The cowl section is also outstanding. With everything out of the dash the bottom cowl section is visible and it is in excellent rust free condition. The floors are also in great condition, including the lower rear (back seat) section. Trunk area is also rock solid. As are the shock towers. Perfect rust free doors and passenger fender. One small, slightly larger than a silver dollar, size spot of rust on lower driver fender. 1" area on far driver quarter (see pics). The car appears to have the original quarter panels on it. Passenger side has had amateur repair. Damage was not from rust but a light dent, cut out and shows repair on trunk side. New in-box quarter panel included. Front floors need minor work, see pics. Factory a 6 cyl, manual transmission, candy apple red car. Set up for 302 or 289. T-5 five speed included.Front end metal including grill and emblem is extremely clean. Tail lights and lenses are all nice with no cracks. Tail light chrome is excellent. New in package front and rear bumpers.Red interior complete except missing driver seat, 3 passenger seats but no driver seat. Has new in-box black carpet and seat upholstery. New door panels. 2 Gauge sets, both nice, like new glove box, 2 horn caps, original steering wheel. New weather-strip. Missing the heater. Has center console
I am offering the car in a couple of different price ranges depending on what the new buyer wants with the car. It is able to be rolled onto a transport. It has a 96 Lincoln mark 7 independent rear end (8.8) and front cradle that the body is sitting on. It does need to be fabricated if the buyer intends to use this set up. I had planned to use the IRS rear as it has its own cradle, would be easy to mount to rear frame rails and fits well under the car. (as seen in pic) I then planned to use a modern suspension upgrade kit for the front. (not use the front k frame) Motor mount section on k frame lines up nice and it will bolt right to the existing front frame rails. The top a- arm section would then need custom fab work along with obtaining correct geometry, easier to buy a front kit.I also have the stock front suspension and a rear end from a 96 mustang that I can make the car roll with instead of the mark 7 parts.Has a low mile 89 fox body 5.0, fuel injected with the wiring and computer. This year of 5.0 had forged internals and a roller cam. Easy to build power out of.Can be included or not.
Price options-
#1 - Complete rolling package with everything I have for the car (body) included. With 5.0 engine, IRS rear and mark 7 or stock front suspension. $4700Including glass installed and ready to transport.
#2 - Rolling package with everything I have for the body included, with 5.0 and without IRS rear. Glass installed ready to load. $4400
#3 - Rolling package with every I have for the body included, glass in, loaded with parts and ready to go, without engine or IRS rear. $4000
#4 - Show up with trailer and lode all of it, except engine and IRS. Side Glass not installed, less of complete assembly of body as you will be able to lode it and I won't need to prepare it for transport. $3600Or ???This should leave room for a new buyer to negotiate a deal that works to build the car they want. I may negotiate slightly but not much as the prices are fair for this car and what is included. Thanks for your interest and feel free to ask questions.
