1956 Ford Thunderbird Metric Continental 312cid 215hp
1956 Ford Thunderbird Continental Description
This stunning 1956 Ford Thunderbird turns heads everywhere. She's in beautiful condition for her age. The car was rarely and gently used in recent years after restoration. Being originally delivered to France, it has a metric speedometer and odometer which shows only 41,000km (25853 miles!). Despite the European features, it is left-hand drive. The car is said to have been originally sold to the Farouk of Egypt, who kept it in his extensive collection of luxury vehicles. This special Baby Bird includes power seats and windows, power brakes, SOFT AND HARD TOPS, and the radiant Continental Kit with no fender skirts! The car underwent cosmetic restoration in the 70's, and was preserved, covered in a garage, ever since. That restoration included a rebuilt 1956 Ford Thunderbird 312 V8 engine. The car has minimal cosmetic damage limited to minor paint imperfections (most visible above the driver’s side wheel well as shown in the last photo). In recent months, no expenses have been speared to get the car running and driving well. Recent work includes: cooling system flush, carburetor tuning, transmission service, front wheel bearing re-pack, cylinder head resurface, new battery, new spark plugs, oil change, new fuel pump, fuel line and tank flush, timing belt service, air induction service, pushrod and valve springs service, exterior detail including polishing of paint and chrome, interior detailing including leather conditioning and glass cleaning.
