Thistruck was built to tow large trailers in a wide variety of situations. It has a6.9l diesel engine, 4 wheel drive, a four speed transmission that is really athree speed with a granny low; an aftermarket overdrive unit that really makesa difference on the highway (along with the cruise control); two outlets fortrailer electrical hookup plus a lever to activate trailer brakes; Jake brakefor the hills (yes, a 3/4 ton diesel pickup has a Jake brake);140 gallonaux. fuel tank makes for infrequent fuel stops. Hydraulic lift makes liftingheavy cargo into the truck easy. New tires. An adapter kit has been installedon the AC so that it uses modern coolant. An amazing 60,000 miles (It reallywas just used to tow trailers). I purchased this vehicle from the daughter ofthe original owner, a woman I have known for 20 years, thus I am confident ofthe story of the truck. If you look at the picture of the 4wd shift lever, justabove the top of the lever you will see the switch for the auxiliary fuel tank.
Thingsthat I know are wrong with the truck:
1.Turningon the left turn signal while driving in cruise control causes the cruisecontrol to pop off.
2.Thetop of the cab needs to be sanded and painted.
3.At some time in the past, the right rear tire exploded, causing some damage tothe sheet metal by the wheel well. That is why I have the two pictures.
Rust:The top of the cab needs attention. Asmall amount on the trim next to the windshield on the left side. A bit behindthe right rear wheel. All in all, she is in pretty good shape for her age.
Thisis a heavy duty work horse.
