1964 Tbird convertible Barn Find solid car
1964 Ford Thunderbird Description
1964 Thunderbird convertible
T-bird convertible projects don't come up for sale very often, and while this isn't the prettiest, its a very solid car that's been in storage for years.
I had the car running last year and it has a very healthy engine, but the carb got some gunk in it and I can't get it to run now off the fuel pump. It will run on starting fluid or gas poured in the intake. It will also need a new starter solenoid but I can start it with a jumper wire across the terminals.
The body and unibody have minimal rust. The worst is a fist sized hole in the driver side floorboard and a rusty battery tray. Quarters, fender and door bottoms, rockers, rear floors etc all look solid. Core support looks good too. The area behind the rear seat is solid and still has the original sound deadening. Seat platforms and troughs look good.
The car was originally white but was repainted and has some heavy cracked paint in the quarters. It doesn't like like there's any significant filler or body repairs but it you can see some issues in photos. Previous owner painted parts of the body with black primer to protect it.
The top frame and lid are complete but the power switch fell down inside the console and I haven't been able to fish it out to test the top.
The car is located in Amelia, Ohio, just east of Cincinnati. Zip code 45102.
