1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Description
Restored, vintage, loaded, iconic, upgraded, and powerful are all way you can describe this 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1. That's why the one word that sums it all up the best is "Wow".
The 1970 Mustang was a one-year only style that gave the original pony car a more muscular presence on the streets. This one definitely goes for the performance-minded appearance with its bold shaker hood. That paint you can't take your eyes off of is the factory-correct Medium Bright Blue Metallic. It's particularly stunning because you can see they really took the time and investment to properly lay the bold blue over the laser-straight body. There's a dark aggression to this coupe, and it starts up front with the chin spoiler and bold black stripe package with 351 callouts built right in. It continues the length of the car on the black lower body moldings with correct Mach 1 badging. Plus, the back has the louvered rear window, more striping, and big spoiler. And even the new brightwork details show you this is a galloping pony, including the sleek form-hugging bumpers, large dual exhaust tips, and those iconic Magnum 500 wheels.
We love the premium look of a white interior, and the solid restoration investment here means you're going to love showing off this pristine appearance. Best of all, the plush carpeting is done in black, so you don't have to dust off your shoes before hopping in and going for a drive. The Mustangs of this era seemed to strike a nice balance combining a sporty feel with grand touring comfort. Handsome high-back bucket seats not only look cool, but they also are firm and supportive for long drives. Plus, the desirable center console with tall armrest makes this a nice atmosphere on long trips. You get a three-spoke sports steering wheel with Mustang center cap, and beyond that are clear original gauges. You'll love all the original features, including the premium wood-like trim. But the more you look, the more you'll spot some well-integrated upgrades. For example, the radio has a retro look, but it's a modern AM/FM digital tuner. Those AutoMeter auxiliary readouts are well-placed in the console. And not only was this a factory air conditioning car, but it has now been upgraded to modern R134a (it will need servicing.)
When you pop the hood, not only do you get a great view of the shaker we all love, but also you see a terrifically clean presentation that includes Ford Racing ribbed valve covers and fresh components, right down to the wires and hoses. Even the decals are quite correct! This is a year-correct 351 cubic-inch V8, and as you dig a little deeper, you'll see that it has been given all the right performance investments to live up to this powerful pony's image. This V8 has been enhanced and fortified with a bore .30 over kit, aluminum heads, new rods, new pistons, ARP bolts, Comp Cams 270/270 camshaft, roller rockers, and much more. It inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and headers add power while letting this exhale with a sweet sound. The full engine overhaul happened within the last few years and was over a $6k investment on its own. That's how you get such a powerful and strong-running package. And because this is a coupe you're going to want to show off everywhere, it comes with nice driving features, like power steering and power brakes w/discs up front. There's even a four-speed automatic transmission upgrade to give you highway-friendly overdrive.
Not only is this a stunning restored coupe, but also it comes with great documentation. This includes a reproduction windows sticker, build receipts, and a restoration photo book. Plus, the deluxe Marti Report means you can show how this special coupe is a true 1 of 1! So if you love a terrific pony car that loves to gallop near or far, call today!
