351W-4V, Factory 4 Speed, 9-in Traction Lock Rear End
1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Description
69 Mach 1, 4-speed manual, M Code (351W-4V) I bought and restored this car in 1989 (when NOS parts were plentiful and Chinese parts weren’t a thing) and have put 50,000 miles on it since then.
351W motor w/ an Edelbrock Performer Plus cam, Edelbrock Performer heads, Edelbrock Performer intake, Hooker headers, with a 4-speed Top Loader Transmission and Hurst shifter, and a stock Ford 9-inch traction lock rear end.
Engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt and clutch replaced in May 2014, 7,500 miles ago. (I have stock 4V heads for you.) As far as I know, this is the original engine, as it came with the car in 1989.
Steering box, front end parts, and all four shocks replaced in July 2019. Undamaged original shock towers (drilled by previous owner for UCA grease fitting access). Factory front disc brakes.
Wimbledon White paint. Bondo on quarters and driver’s door. Some rust at the bottom of quarters and doors; no rust underneath. The car was painted 30+ years ago, and has rock chips, etc., but still looks pretty from 10-20 feet.
All stock interior, very nice with center console and fold-down rear seat. Rip in driver’s seat that’s been there since I bought it.
Magnum 500 Steel Wheels (15”) I have all receipts totaling over $35k. Car has always been garaged and was never raced/hot-rodded.
Car is in the San Jose, CA area and has clean California title.
