1988 Ford Mustang GT With Rare T Tops!
1988 Ford Mustang GT Description
listing
I bought this car several years ago, I searched for a t top car for years from the south and finally found this one. Being a southern car it has GREAT shock towers and torque boxes, two fundamentals for a solid start on a foxbody. Until a few weeks ago it has been stored in a garage at another house I own, I decided to rent the house out so I decided to sell a few project cars and let someone else enjoy some of them. Ford only made t tops in this body style for 2 years, this was the last year for them. I would hang onto this one but with 5 other projects going and several more in waiting I need to be realistic. This would make a great car to restore and or to build due to it not being rusted out and shock towers being in great shape.
I put a battery in it cycled the key a few times and it fired right up after sitting dormant for 8 plus years, yes it yard drives but I have never had it on the road. It is the 5 liter V8 with a automatic transmission, I did move it around the yard and drove it up on the trailer. The motor runs good even with very old gas in it. Tires will hold air and get you on a trailer, I would not trust them to go farther. Mileage is showing 13,000 plus, I do not know if it is 113000, 213000, 313000 etc. You should trailer this home or plan on having it shipped, I have a shipping broker I have worked with in years past and he's always treated me right.
This car will need a COMPLETE restoration meaning paint, bodywork and interior etc. It will also need a windshield as it is cracked in several places. The car has numerous nicks, scratches and dings all over the car, I am not a restoration expert so I will not be able to depict every flaw the car has. The passenger rear floor pan needs replaced, drivers side rear has been replaced but previous owner screwed it in so it needs to be welded, the other pans look good. These are cheap on eBay. Passenger door is missing belt moulding, again cheap online and easily sourced.
Everything you see in the pictures is all I have, I do not know what the is missing and what it is not. I bought the car in the condition you see it in, it appears mostly there and looks like there are some extra parts but years are interchangeable and parts are cheap.
Please ask questions before bidding, make sure to check with your significant other and clear your purchase beforehand. Do not assume anything please ask and if I can answer your question I will.
The car must be picked up at my home, funds MUST clear before vehicle leaves the premises. Car is sold as is where is with no warranties implied. No holds, I reserve to end the auction early as it may be listed on other sites and listed for sale locally. I am still deciding that, 500.00 NONREFUNDABLE deposit due within 24 hours of auctions close, full payment within 3 days.
I can work with the buyer in regards to pickup time, I would like the car picked up within 2 weeks but if you need more time within reason we can discuss before you purchase the car.
Clear rebuilt Alabama title in hand ready to register, I am not sure why it was branded rebuilt, the factory stickers are still on the core support and the front aprons are straight, it does have a aftermarket fender on the drivers side, it's needs some adjustment. Maybe once it's listed the car fax report will shed some more light on this, again there is no visible evidence of where the car was in a collision other than a replacement fender. Bear in mind I am NOT a body specialist.
Please contact me for any questions BEFORE you bid if you have them. Sold as is where is.
Thank you!
