1936 Ford Deluxe HOT ROD RAT ROD Description

1936 Ford 2-door sedan “Humpback” street rod. Car is ALL steel including the running boards and all the fenders. Power comes from a 350 Chevy small block backed by a Turbo 350 automatic transmission into a 8.8” Ford Posi-traction differential.

Owner had the car repainted approximately 2 years ago in two-tone gray enamel. It is not perfect and on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being perfect it is a 6. It looks great for a cruiser and weekend driver. In the way of bodywork, there appears to be little to no ‘bondo’. Cowl vent works and the windshield does crank out. The cracked windshield is in the process of being replaced.

The Chevy small block was rebuilt approximately 5 years ago and has about 7100 miles on it. The build includes an Edelbrock carburetor and intake, headers, HEI ignition, and a ‘lumpy’ hydraulic cam. Idles great, very responsive accelerator and turns 2,000 rpm at 60 mph. New radiator with a thermostatically controlled electric fan keeps the cooling system at 185 degrees. Gas tank is a new stainless-steel item along with a mechanical fuel pump.

Transmission was refreshed about the same time the engine was rebuilt using stock components and shifts with a Lokar floor mounted shifter.

Chassis & suspension uses a stock ’36 Ford frame with a Mustang II power rack & pinion steering up front and new radial tires (195 x 55R x 15 front & 215 x 65R x 17 rear) mounted on polished American Torque Thrust wheels on all four corners. Power brakes using disc’s front and drum’s in the rear stop the Ford ‘on a dime’.

Interior is 95 percent complete with a new headliner (dome light on order) door panels, rear seat, and Audi power front seats. Auto meter gauges which include oil pressure, water temperature, speedometer/odometer, voltmeter, and fuel level all function normally. Four speaker w/amplifier AM/FM/CD player.

Seller wants to reduce his inventory of ‘toys’.
