1955 Ford Thunderbird Description

Stunning good looks. The colors and those wire wheels are sexy! Restored to show condition.
EXTERIOR: The body is extremely straight. I don't see any signs of rust or damage. The paint is really polished out like red glass. The hood fits nice and square, doors fit real well. In front the bumper, grill, trim and emblems are gleaming. The chrome on the hood scoop, louvers, emblems, mirrors and door handles look new. In back the bumper and emblems are new. The door jambs are painted real neatly, the weatherstrip and sill plates were replaced. The Kelsey Hayes wire wheels have red centers in the spinners and reproduction white wall tires. convertible top is an actual Ford convertible frame, not cheap reproduction. The black convertible is real nice with one patch.
INTERIOR: Really sharp red and white. New seat cushion and upholstery. New door and kick panels. The dash area is very nice. Has a retro stereo in the factory hole. It also has a factory tachometer and power seat. It has the horn ring which is commonly broke off. New window cranks and handles. The carpet was replaced. It has the reproduction floormats and a set of premium carpeted and embroidered mats. Has owner's manual in the glovebox box. The back of the seat and the red drape that hides the top look new.. It also has red seatbelts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Restored to original. It has correct hoses and clamps, washer bag, cadmium plated power brake system. Original 292 motor was rebuilt. It has optional dress up kit- chrome air cleaner and finned aluminum valve covers. The engine bay is clean metal painted red. Bottom of the hood is gloss red.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal painted red. It has a new white wall on a red painted rim for a spare. The jack assembly is complete. It also has a new black rubber mat. The bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are glossy, new weatherstrip. 4 original hubcaps are included too
UNDERSIDE: Overall solid and in good shape. It has factory sound deadener on the floors. The bottom was cleaned and sprayed satin black so it looks clean. Looking up at the motor and trans they look spotless. Starter looks new. We verified the casting numbers on the side of the block and the tag on the Ford-o-matic, both are original. Both were rebuilt. The exhaust looks new and goes out the rear bumper like it did originally. Fuel tank looks new. Brakes were redone, lines look new.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
