1990 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer XLT Description

Up for sale is a recently acquired Ford Bronco. I bought this truck in March 2020 from World Famous 4x4 in Burbank, CA. Its the Eddie Bauer 5.8 with 200,500 miles.
Since buying the truck, I've mostly refurbished the interior and had some basic mechanical matters that needed clearing up done by World Famous 4x4. I put in a bit more money, elbow grease and time that I expected. This project was for me to enjoy SoCal beach cruising with my three young boys and so I went the extra mile with some of the refurbs, not expecting to sell this or make a buck. In fact, I've put about over $5,500 into this truck since I've bought it. However, life has taken a different direction for our family and I'm listing the Bronco so we can purchase an RV. Hate to see it go. I strived to keep everything OEM or close to original and thought this was going to be a lifer vehicle for me.
Here is the work done and the good stuff done this year (2020):
  • New paint
  • New rims
  • New weather seals - most seals were replaced in April ($580) -- front doors, front windows, rear top (several seals here), rear tailgate (lots of seals here). Basically the small front corner windows and the windshield seals were only seals not replaced.
  • New aftermarket interior front door panels and I refurbished the lower front door map pockets ($635).
  • New carpet and rubber mats ($450)
  • New sound dampening (dynamat type material) to inside of the doors, interior sides and rear quarter panels ($119). Quieter ride inside and reflects heat
  • New heatshield under entire front of cab (underneath carpet) and reflective heat shield to rear quarter panels and under rear carpet ($100)
  • New door sills and thresholds (front and rear) ($100)
  • New Radio, New Front Speakers and New OEM back speakers ($188)
  • New rear seat bench bottom foam and reinforced seatback foam ($250)
  • New rear bench seat belts ($130)
  • Replaced various worn or broken parts (dome light, steering wheel cover, front belt buckles, woodgrain dash trim, rear bumper pads, front grill, spare tire cover, door strikers, door switch, bulbs, bulb covers, etc). The interior, minus the dash, was completely taken out and all parts were cleaned and refurbished as needed with pins, screws, tabs and anything else replaced as needed
    ($914)
  • All three doors operate on the same key and rear window rolls down with the key from the outside
Mechanical work done:
  • I'm told a prior owner rebuilt engine and transmission at 140K
  • World Famous 4x4 did a $2,000 service this year, including front and rear diff service, new oil pan gasket, new rear main seal, oil change, coolant flush, remove and reinstall transmission, transfer case, front drive shaft, and rear drive shaft to solve for minor leaks, new ball joints on front diff, etc. I tried to solve for any mechanical areas that leaked, but its a 1990 Ford so inevitably it will have some minor leaks here and there, however anything that needed to be attended to was
  • Mechanic says it runs strong and doesn't currently need anything
Areas for improvement, issues, and disclosures:
  • AC doesn't blow cold air. Never bothered with this given my use was a beach cruiser in SoCal
  • Power locks don't work. You can lock/unlock the doors with the key (from the outside) or by hand (from the inside). I tested the wiring and it works, so it just needs new power lock motors (~$40) and installation. The installation is outside my wheelhouse and power locks didn't bother me so I didn't get around to it.
  • Rear window rolls-up slowly
  • Paint looks nice, but not perfect along some of the trim, mostly when you open the doors you can see the imperfections. Previous exterior color was gold/tan for the body and the top a
  • Driver mirror gets out of adjustment after shutting door, but once you sit in the truck and adjust the mirror it stays that way when driving and until you shut the door again
  • Driver seat foam is worn. The upholsterer that did the bench seat for me told me its $125, I just haven't had time to take the seat out and drive it to them (Ok Van Custom Interiors in Bell Gardens)
  • It’s a 30 year old truck so its not perfect, there are some dings, light dents, scuffs, scratches, imperfections as expected on a 30 year old truck. It drives like a 30 year old truck
Other:
  • Comes with one engine key and one door key
  • Original owners manual included
  • Original middle console included but not installed. I kept it out after replacing the carpet so my boys had another way to get to the back
  • Spare tire, rubber mats, and spare tire cover are also included
