1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Description

This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is the real-deal with a terrific V8 and four-on-the-floor. And it has all the best stories you want in a classic, like long-term ownership and a meticulous restoration, means this is an irresistible rare pony.
The appeal of this car is as clear as black and white, literally. Ford's classic Wimbledon White paint was part of upgrades later in life. In fact, as you look over every inch of this Mustang, you're going to see very obvious signs that they made big investments in keeping this period-correct and fresh (you'll even see Ford's correct red oxide paint in the very tidy undercarriage photos.) While we love the finish of the exterior white, what it really does is make a great background for all the black performance pieces. The shaker hood scoop, wide chin spoiler, rear hood louvers, blackout trunk, and full-width rear spoiler all stand out nicely. And of course, Larry Shinoda's satin black hood and side graphics are crisp and clean so you can instantly recognize this icon. It's easy to understand why there would be such a big investment in this coupe. Not only is it a rare real-deal Boss 302, but also it's believed that the low odometer reflects actual mileage. We were told it was cherished by the same family for three decades!
The black accents of the outside also get you ready for the all-black interior. There's a great vintage presentation everywhere from the AM/FM radio to the wood-like trim on the center console. It even has the correct trunk mat and spare tire. Overall, you can tell by the quality that they made sure to focus plenty of the restoration budget inside. Plus, this Boss never loses its driver-focused attitude. You get the classic high-back bucket seat, and the dual-spoke steering wheel gives you a clear view to the full round gauge package that includes a large tach. You just know you're going to love resting your hand on the Hurst shifter.
The motor on these cars is what makes them quite special, and so there was extra attention paid here during restoration. This is a correct Boss 302 V8 motor (non numbers-matching) that truly has the clean presentation of a factory-fresh powerhouse. Even the decals and markings were re-created for a show-worthy presentation. And the Marti Report tells us that iconic details like the shaker hood are correct for this Boss. More than just look authentic, you'll love a proper Boss because the high-revving 302 cubic-inch V8 was made to be a Trans-Am road racing star. You get proper control over this power thanks to the four-speed manual transmission that feeds a limited-slip Ford 9-inch rear end with 3.91 gears. When you look underneath, you're going to notice more great details, like the re-created factory markings on the diff cover. But also take some time to see how fresh everything is. That means a solid car that gives you confidence on the road. Combine that with power brakes w/front discs and wide BF Goodrich T/As on classic Mag 500 wheels for a terrific classic car experience.
While this one likely has ultra-low mileage, it has that overall quality feeling where we know you won't be able to resist adding to the odometer. So if you want to know what it feels like to be the Boss, don't miss this deal. Call now!
