1971 Ford Torino Description
Up for sale is a 1971 Ford Torino Pro Touring project with 45 550 miles on the clock. The engine is still the original V8 351ci of the car that has been rebuit 8k miles ago. The engine was also up-graded with a cool mild cam, custom professional built header's, MSD Ignition system as well as an MSD Atomic fuel injected system. The transmission is the origninal C6 that was rebuilt at the same time of the engine and a Special Performance Transmission Automotive torque was installed. The suspensions were also revisited so that Global West new technology was installed front to back. The front suspension has coil over shocks with tubular control arms and a power steering rack n pinion. As for the rear, the Ford 9'' rear end with a 3.00 posi gear is mounted on a 4 link system with adjustable coil over shocks and a Watts link system that gives an unbelievable handling. Brakes system is Wilwood 13 inch big brakes on all 4 corners and commanded by a Wilwood billet master cylinder hooked to a power brake booster. The wheels are 18 inch wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires on all 4 corners. The car sheet metal is in an amazing condition. Car is completely rust free and retaining the original paint on all panel to the exeption of the passenger door that was repainted in the 80's. An original shaker hood system was installed in the engine bay. For the interior, the full bench was replace with bucket seat's and a floor shifter, The old column shift steering column is still in place. The interior, beside a console, is complete but will need to be re-upholstered.Body is very nice and straight. After the year's, the car as a few dings or dents and the original paint is faded but you see exactly the condition of the body with no hidden area.
I have over $ 40k invested in this project. What is left is the paint and interior.
