1937 Ford Pickup Hot Rod Street Truck - 66 Shortbed Frame 73 Lincoln 460 C6
1966 Ford Other Pickups Description
Ford Other Pickups. Up for bid is my 1966 Ford short bed pickup framed 1937 ford body hot rod. Has a 1973 Lincoln Town Car 460 CI with the C6 transmission. Does not have the original v8 emblems on the side of the hood, most of the trim is original except a aftermarket Bob Drake radiator grill housing v8 emblem-uninslalled and some 460 engine mounts for a 73 ford pickup which the ones on it right now are homemade and sagging from the weight and torqueing and some bumper nerf bars from a old car that would be good for a bumper. Has 15" wide Mickey Tompson's on the rear and small tires on the from on Prime Custom Wheels. Has the original rearend and front suspension that came with the 1966 frame and is using a old tractor gas tank that is big enough to maybe go to the next gas station and not the first one you come to, not gas friendly when this was running. Parked last and registered in 1998 in Ohio and not driven since or started. The reason for parking this was because it definitely turned heads and lot of tire at red street light because the throttle sometimes decided to stick a hair and melt tires. I figured better to park it than get in trouble, now I am trying to keep the home I live in and that is more important than the last hot rod my dad had anything to do with in building, don't really want to sell this, but I have to have a home. Originally a Zoar, Ohio fire department water tanker truck and long has lost the tank and the original frame with drivetrain. The bed is some bent thick sheet metal with a 1950's tailgate. The running boards and rear fenders over the years and through different owners have been modified to make them fit, the running boards were shortened and the rear fenders were narrowed and then later when I fixed it up I put the wheels on it to fill the fenders more than a stock wheels would with a wide tire and have to much space in the wheel well left over and looked not correct so I went with the 15" wide wheel instead. There is a small crack in the windshield in the corner of the original ford glass. There has been a sunroof added by a previous owner. Before this pickup body was removed from the original chassis there was 56,269 miles on it, the engine and transmission are unknown mileage but around the 100,000 range, came from a old junk yard when that stuff was still somewhat available for sale to be had. Solid body and frame, very clean and will last a really long time, one putty spot on the roof where the engine hoist smacked the roof and dented it, everything else is solid straight metal, no putty there but around the rear taillights to mold them into the sheet metal. Has a Reese hitch to tow a trailer. Cab Identification #1144, Model CAB CH/FR. Not exactly sure what the cab model is but would venture to say at least fire and rescue model and would have been the same cab for a bigger commercial stake or box truck in 1937, but has been parted out over the years of ownership and has been put back together a few times. The driveshaft was done by Cookson's from Dover, Ohio. Will need to be towed or messed with a little bit to get it running again. Has cherry bombs for mufflers.
