classic vintage chrome pony Stang FoMoCo muscle car red paint
1971 Ford Mustang Description
The 1971 Ford Mustang represents a cool transition as the original pony car stretched its legs into muscle machine territory. This V8 coupe shows this off well with a vintage presentation with some nice sporty style upgrades.
1971 was a great year for the Mustang if you're a fan of American flair. This was the first appearance of a major restyle, and it followed Detroit's maxim of longer, lower, and wider. These cars have nice styling touches like the line that follows the front fender all the way into the door, and there's a recessed back panel that gave it a sporty overhang in the rear. The Mustang was given these elongated lines to create a meaner appearance, and aggressive is exactly how this coupe was built to look. The red paint provides the perfect backdrop to all the dark accents. This includes the full-length Mach 1 triple stripe, wide chin spoiler, large rear spoiler, and sporty hood with blacked-out over the dual NACA openings. Finishing off this added speedy image are the bright dual exhaust tips and Magnum 500 wheels. But more than just a sports car, you'll also appreciate premium touches, like the newer chrome bumpers and the nice black vinyl roof.
If you like all the black accents of the exterior, then you're going to love the full black interior. You can really tell there was a more recent investment in the carpet, dash, and door panels by their level of quality. Many of the details have a clean look, and this even appears to be a factory A/C car (it will need components and servicing to return the function.) It's a well-done driver package with nice high-back bucket seats up front and an upgraded cup holder center console in-between. The wood-rimmed sports steering wheel is one of the brightest pieces of the interior (so it really draws your eye,) and beyond that are crisp factory gauges.
Ford's 302 cubic-inch V8 looks quite good under the hood with the long Cobra air topper and ribbed Mustang valve covers. This V8 inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and that also helps give the dual exhaust a nice tune. The total presentation is quite clean. We were told the motor was rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago, and the way this one fires up readily reaffirms the feeling of a quality investment. The three-speed automatic transmission was said to be rebuilt at the same time, and it's a smooth shifter. In fact, it's an all-around good driver with power steering, wide BF Goodrich T/As, and power brakes with discs up front.
This is the long coupe that's made for driving. So if you love a substantial pony, don't miss this Mustang. Call now!
