It is always a privilege for me when I get to sell a car like this. Because I have almost two decades of dealing with vintage automobile parts, collectibles and classic cars, I get requests to sell cars for people all the time. I only take on the ones that mean something for me. This is one of those cars. The Ford Motor Company made around 4,320,000 Model A's. Many of them were reclaimed for their metal during World War Two. Many more never made it out of the junk yard. Out of the ones that have managed to survive the last 85 years, they definitely have a story to tell. Selling this car is your chance to not only carry on the life of this car, but also its story. It is also an opportunity to make a new story of your own with this super sweet ride.
I say I it is a privilege to sell this car because this car belonged to "Jimmy". Jimmy, was a friend, husband, father and a veteran and he recently passed away. The family has given me the honor of finding it a new home.
Jimmy was one of those guys that had a lifelong love affair with the Model A. His first car was a Model A that he fixed up when he was only 15 years old. The car is still running today and is still in the family.
Jimmy was a navy man. He left his college days as a student in the Reserves at the University of Alabama to go active duty in Viet Nam. His days fighting in the Navy were spent on an LCM running the muddy river waters of Viet Nam. These LCM, or Mike Boats as they were called, were not exactly the easy way to spend your time during the war. His service to his country, my country, is why I wanted to sell this car for the family.
When Jimmy came back from the war, he went right back to cars. And as his best friend Tom put it, "he could take any pile of crap and turn it into the nicest thing you have ever seen." Mr. "Jimmy" spent his life restoring and rebuilding cars and managed to put his kids through college with his lifelong hobby.
So here we are with this beautiful Model A that I am selling for the family. It was finished just a few years ago and starts easy and runs very well. The paint is nice, as is the interior. It has had seat belts installed so that it can be driven legally. It has a clean and clear title and is ready to go in every way. There really isn't much more I can add about the car that the pictures don't tell. If I had the money this car would be mine and not selling on Ebay. I love the look of this Model A Ford in every way. The color is quite striking and would make a really great drive around car or parade car. This is a restoration of love, and while the paint and details are impeccable, this is a driver and not a show car. It was restored for driving and my hope and the hope of the family is that the new owner will drive the heck out of it and love it every bit as much as Jimmy and his family did.
