1984 Ford LTD Brougham Description

I'm selling a recent estate find - A 1984 Ford LTD Brougham 4 Door Sedan with just over 43000 miles. 2 previous owners - the father and the daughter. When the father passed in 1989, the car had 42271 miles on it. His daughter purchased it from the estate and kept it in her garage. In the next 27 years, she put approximately 900 miles on the car. She kept it operational, and maintained it, but rarely drove it.I checked it over with the help of a mechanic friend. The paint is original - there is some over-spray near the door frame of the driver side, so I assume there was some rust repaired there. There are a couple spots of rust in the wheel wells (see photos). The engine runs smooth and the transmission shifts well. The burgundy interior is in excellent shape. It doesn't appear anyone ever sat in the back seats - and the fronts are about the same - no tears, rips, etc. The only things I could find wrong with this beauty are as follows: Air conditioning blows warm; Right front power window doesn't function (the others all work fine); Gas gauge doesn't move; there is a 4" single line crack in the windshield on the passenger side. Headliner is drooping some. The brakes are fairly mushy, but stop the car evenly. The clock still works!Other than what I've mentioned, the car is in beautiful shape. Nice Michelin all-weather radials all around. Original wheel-covers. Clean engine compartment and trunk. This could be a great daily driver or Sunday cruiser. This is built on the same framework as the 84 Mustang, so it could be modified for whatever you can imagine. Remember, this is a 32 year old car. The hoses appear to be in good shape, but you might want to go over everything with a mechanic before planning a cross country trip. Buying "as is" with no guarantees or warranties.
