1967 Ford Mustang Convertible Project Car - 289 ci V8, RARE Bench Seat
1967 Ford Mustang Description
Up for auction is my 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible project car. It has a 289 V8, Original (RARE) Front Bench Seat, and automatic transmission. I purchased this in 2000 after it had been hit in the rear on the side. I bought this as well as a coupe of a similar year (can't remember exactly) for parts. This car was not drive-able when I received it but was running, and running very well. I began disassembling the car right away and found enough rust and rot to justify replacing the inner rocker panels (not full length) and the rear torque boxes. I cut out a large portion of the floor for easy access and then hired someone to get me started. The person I hired to do this welding was a great welder but seemed to have made a mistake and the car ultimately had a 'hump' in the middle as the torque box ended up slightly misaligned. I then made a cut in them (one on each side) and the car sunk to the seemingly correct placement. It was at this time that the work stopped and for 15 years it has been sitting. I am now moving from a house in the burbs with a large garage to a small place in the big city with potentially no garage. I hate to get rid of it, but it is time. This rare beauty needs a new home and some TLC to make it what it is meant to be.
Car has a clean MI title and is sold as-is. It has 4 wheel drum brakes and the front drivers-side wheel does not roll easily. The car does roll, but will need to be winched onto a trailer. It did roll off the trailer quite easily, but was not easy to get on. Everything shown that related to the car is included, but the wheel dollies are not included. If you want them, please include a specific ask in the offer. The engine has never dripped a drop, nor has the rear-end. It has not been started in 15 years...the gas tank was removed and I have no way to start it without.
Odometer shows 5,915.3 Miles, Title shows none. I cannot confirm the miles. I purchased the car from a 'southern' state, believe it was Kentucky. I had it shipped up to my home in Michigan in 2000 where it has been sitting for 16 years now, always in a garage.
There are extra seats from the coupe (front bucket and rear bench), as well as many duplicate parts. I bought A LOT of new parts/sheet metal (full rear quarter panels for left and right, floor pan, inner and outer wheel wells for left and right, rear trunk panels, rear valance, etc), and they are all included. I made special effort NOT to clean anything up so you knew exactly what I had. I did wipe down the seats so you could see any tears or rips..there are not many, but there are a few.
You can ask me any questions and I will do my best to reply ASAP. Deposit of $500 due within 24 hours, full payment due within 7 days, and car to be removed from my garage within 14 days, but that can be modified prior to sale.
I have over 30 more pictures available of the car showing all angles I thought relevant. If you want to see them, please send me a message I can send them to you. Thanks and good luck!
