1969 Ford Mustang Description

With a heavy heart I have decided to sell my car due to health problems I can't keep her. I looked for many years for an R code Mach 1 and found this one. This is a great car. A true time capsule! It had been owned by one female driver who ordered it and had it shipped from the Kansas Ford dealership to San Francisco she wanted one with the candy apple red on red option. She also wanted the automatic non posi rear end as she just wanted a cruiser and never raced the car. When she gave it to one of her sons he had little interest in moms old car but didn't have the heart to sell her pride and joy and so he put it in storage and it remained in dry storage (there is a picture of it when I found it) it was in storage for over 35 years and last registered and on the road in 1981. The mileage reflects this as it has just over 100k miles. Original 428 motor and C6 trans. This car was kept in California its entire life and that is evident by how solid it is. The picture of the car driving onto the car hauler is how it currently looks. My mechanic was floored when he put the car on the lift. There just isn't any rust anywhere. He replaced the entire braking system. Just look at the picture of the tires! They are Polyglass and aren't easy to come by and look new! The interior is in very impressive original condition. Most of the paint is thought to be original but at some time the lady that owned it was hit on the drivers side quarter and that was replaced and repainted (the reason there is no stripe there) but there was no frame damage just a minor fender bender. When I bought it it hadn't been started (although it has its original keys) for over 30 years so I took a gamble because 428 motors are hard to come by and cost a fortune but I just had a good feeling about it so I pulled the trigger to the tune of $43,000. I brought it home and my mechanic got to work getting it running and driving. The motor was in good shape! It needed various other things the total bill was over $3800. So I'm in it for about $47,000 which still isn't bad considering what it is. My next step was to have it painted( the body is very straight with only one or two small door dings, but the body will be very easy to prep. Honestly the paint isn't bad, but of course when you have a car like this you want to go all the way. Well life isn't always fair and my family has been hit with a health emergency that is affecting our finances. I know I will forever regret letting this car go but I must in order to keep our home. So my loss is most definitely your gain. You will not find a better R code Cobrajet anywhere for this price. I'm losing over $10,000 for fast sale. Clean California title and paperwork from original owner and some hand written and dated 1973. Cool stuff. This one is the real deal and deserves to be restored and back on the road where it hasn't been since good ol 1981. Times were simple then and this nostalgic car brings you back to simple times. Deluxe Marti report pictured to show options. All options are original and nothing has been changed except an awesome exhaust system. It now has all new brake components, radiator, all fluids flushed, lots of electric stuff replaced. Etc comes with some original parts that are worth good money along with a full gold reflective stripe kit from Scott Drake. Was going to apply the stripe kit but now that I'm selling it I will leave it in case someone wants to have the paint redone. This car has the factory tach and also rare tilt away steering. It does run and drive and sounds very healthy but I would not advise a long distance trip yet. The low value on NADA and Hemmings is around $36,000 and that is close to my asking and I consider this car much better than the low end.
