1967 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE 289 AUTO A/C ORIGINAL RED DELUXE INTERIOR CAR
1967 Ford Mustang Description
I'M SELLING MY 1967 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE AFTER 17 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. I WILL TRY AND DESCRIBE THE CONDITION THE HONESTLY AS I CAN . I ASK THAT YOU PLEASE READ THE LENGTHY DESCRIPTION BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS . I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY SPECIFICS IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED BUT PLEASE READ ON. THE CAR LOOKS PRETTY NICE IN THE PICTURES BUT IT IS NO SHOW CAR. I CURRENTLY USE IT ON OCCASIONS TO GO TO MY KIDS BASEBALL GAMES, SCHOOL,ERRANDS AND CRUISE NIGHTS. IT STARTS, STOPS, DOESN'T OVERHEAT AND IS A FUN DRIVE AROUND TOWN CAR. WOULD I DRIVE IT ACROSS COUNTRY? NO.IT WAS "RESTORED "IN THE LATE 90's . AT THE TIME IT HAD SOME BODY WOR, PAINT AND A NEW INTERIOR. UNFORTUNATELY THE PREVIOUS CHOSE TO CHANGE THE COLOR TO BLUE AND THE INTERIOR TO PARCHMENT. SINCE THE CAR WAS NOT WORTH MUCH BACK THEN AND WITH A LIMITED BUDGET THE QUALITY OF THE WORK WAS NOT TOP NOTCH. THE CAR DOES LOOK GOOD FROM 20 FEE, BUT SOME SHORT CUTS WERE TAKEN. RUST WAS DEALT WITH BY REPLACING SOME SHEET METAL AND SAVING SOME OF THE ORIGINAL. THE TURN SIGNAL HOOD AND TRUNK LID ARE RUST FREE, BOTH FENDERS ARE SOLI, WITH A TRACES OF A LITTLE FILLER FOR DENTS. DOORS ARE NOT BA, ONE HAS SOME FILLER IN A CORNER. THE REAR QUARTER PANELS WERE REPLACED WITH NOS FORD .THEY DIDN'T REPLACE THE OUTER WHEELHOUSES OR TRUNK DROP OFFS., JUST FILLED THE MISSING SECTIONS WITH PATCHES AND FILLER. NOW WHAT EVERYONE WHO KNOWS MUSTANGS WANTS TO KNOW, THE FRAME AND FLOORS. AT THE TIME THE FLOORS WERE PATCHED OVER WITH PIECES OF SHEETMETAL AND THE CARPET INSTALLED. YOU COULD GET AWAY WITH 4 SHORT PANS EXCEPT THAT THE INNER ROCKERS NEED WORK. THE TORQUE BOXES ARE RUST, PASSENGERS SIDE IS WORSE THAN DRIVERS SIDE, WHERE YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE BOX. THE OUTER LEFT FRONT FRAME RAIL WHERE THE BUMPER SUPPORT ATTACHES IS RUSTED(I HAVE THE PIECE).OVERALL THE CAR DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SAGGING AND IF ORIGINALITY IS NOT A PRIORITY I'M SURE SOME STRUCTURAL PATCHES ALONG WITH FLOOR PANS COULD BE AN ALTERNATIVE TO MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION. THE BODY IS PRETTY STRAIGHT AND IF YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FOR PERFECTION COULD BE RESPRAYED WITH MINIMAL BODYWORK.NOW SOME GOOD POINTS. REAR FRAME RAILS AND TORQUE BOXES SOLID. UNDER THE REAR SEAT, ONLY A COUPLE SMALL RUST SPOTS. THE TRUNK FLOOR IS SOLID .OUTER ROCKERS ARE GOOD. DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE HAD ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS. SHOCK TOWERS VERY NICE NO HOLES CUT IN. ORIGINAL FENDER APRONS AND RADIATOR SUPPORT. THE COWL DOES NOT LEAK. FRONT BUMPER WAS REPLACED AND IS NICE .REAR BUMPER LOOKS ORIGINAL,BUT SHINES. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS NEW AND THE POWER TOP WORKS.ODOMETER SHOWS 76000 AND THE 289-2V ENGINE RUNS STRONG,NO SMOKE OR NOISES. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PERFECTLY, REAR END IS QUIET, BRAKES ALL WERE REPLACED LESS THAN 500 MILES AGO. I HAVE THE MISSING A/C COMPRESSOR AND OTHER REMOVED AC PARTS.THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETE AND VERY PRESENTABLE . THE SEATS WERE COVERED IN STANDARD PARCHMENT UPHOLSTERY. STILL HAS THE DELUXE DASH AND LOWER DOOR GRILLS.LIGHTS ALL WORK, GLASS ALL IN GOOD CONDITION,I DO NOT HAVE A MARTI REPORT BUT I DO HAVE A FORD 999 LETTER. THIS DOCUMENT FROM FORD STATES THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY CANDY APPLE RED WITH A BLACK DELUXE INTERIOR. YOU CAN STILL SEE TRACES OF RED INSIDE THE QUARTER PANELS. THE CAR ALSO CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH POWER STEERING,DISC BRAKES, A/C, CONSOLE, BLACK POWER TOP AND MORE. NO DOOR TAG, VIN ON THE INNER FENDER .OTHER MISCELLANEOUS INFO: COLOR CLOSE TO ACAPULCO BLU, WAS SPRAYED IN LACQUER THE BEST I CAN TELL. HAS STYLED STEEL WHEEL, 3 OF THE 4 TIRES HAVE GOOD TREAD BUT THEY ARE OLD.SPARE TIRE BUT NO JACK. BRAND NEW WHITE CONV TOP BOOT.I HAVE HAD MY FUN WITH THIS CAR AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL SOLD, BUT IT IS TIME FOR IT TO GO.DO A SOME WORK TO IT AND ENJOY IT, AS I HAVE, JUST LIKE IT IS. OR IF YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED A FACTORY RED MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE WITH DELUXE INTERIOR, THEN RESTORE IT AND IT WILL BE MONEY IN THE BANK. I KNOW MANY WILL BE REQUESTING MORE PICTURES OF THE UNDERSIDE. I DID HAVE A DOZEN I TOOK LAST TIME IT WAS UP ON A LIF, BUT THEY WERE ON A COMPUTER THAT'S HARD DRIVE CRASHED. I WILL BE VERY HONEST WITH ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING RUST AND WHAT IT NEEDS. WILLING TO MAKE TIME TO SHOW TO ANYONE AGAIN WHO IS SERIOUSLY INTERESTED. CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME
