1989 Ford Other C8000 Description

This is a rare 1989 Ford C8000 Commercial 4x4 Truck. It is in great condition and only needs a fresh coat of paint. Has a CAT 3208 Diesel engine with only 56, 000 miles on it. It was sitting in an equipment lot in California when I found it. I have lots more pictures that I can share. My sons and I started working on it as a project truck but they are off to college and I need to make room in my shop for other toys. This was originally a boom truck owned by a utility company in California. It did not see much action. I removed the boom and utility box and all the hydraulics which weighed about 20,000 lbs. It took 2 men, 3 full days to remove the equipment off the back of the truck. The truck has 16,000 lbs Marmon Herrington Axles and drive train, automatic Allison transmission. This is a factory commercial truck. There have been no changes to the drive train, motor or suspension. It has air brakes and air lockers for the transfer case and front axle. It is all original except for the military wheels and tires I put on. I also purchased and installed a brand new (still in the crate) 14 foot steel military flat bed. Prior to the bed installation I had a fab shop create rails and flexible bed brackets with titanium springs to allow the bed to flex when going over uneven terrain ($3k). I had a custom battery box made and updated the fuel tank. It has new Michelin 14.00 R20 XZL which retail for about $1000 each and 2 piece military rims similar to the ones on a 5 ton truck. I can not go anywhere in this truck without people stopping me and wanting to see it and talk about it. I have even been asked to bring it to car shows because it is so rare and unusual. Friends have said I should take it to some of the diesel truck shows but I just don't have time. Someone needs to take this project and finish it. This will make a great fun truck or show truck. It will easily haul anything you want!
