This listing is for an outstanding one owner LTD Crown Victoria LX with all the options. The owner has decided to part with his car which has never been driven in the winter even though he is a lifelong resident of the Northeast. The car has always been garaged, and the owner is a non smoker.
The mileage is 86,494 as of the date of listing. The car is only driven on special occasions now and the bulk of the mileage was accumulated driving between Connecticut and Myrtle Beach, SC.
ExteriorThe original black paint is nearly perfect and far better than the age or mileage of the car would otherwise warrant. The chrome and bright trim work is also in the same condition. The Landau style black vinyl roof is perfect. There have been no body repairs or even minor touchups for the car. Each spring the car has been professionally detailed in preparation for summer driving, and that level of care shows on every feature of the car.
InteriorThe interior is in similar pristine condition. Since this car is the LX model, it includes an Interior Luxury Package which features upgraded interior fabrics (including a higher-grade of carpeting), split-bench dual recliner power front seats, full-bench center armrest rear seats, additional sound insulation, door-mounted courtesy lights and power windows. This car also has the optional power remote mirror and door locks. Further options include:
· air conditioning (temperature controlled)
· tilt steering wheel
· cruise control
· cast aluminum wheels
· cornering lamps
· an illuminated entry system
· a TripMinder computer
· automatic headlights
· leather-wrapped steering wheel
· stereo radio with cassette and power antenna
All of these options work the way they did when the car was new.
Drive trainThe 5.0 liter fuel injected engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and exhibits strong acceleration through the automatic overdrive transmission. The most significant repair work performed on the running gear has been the replacement of the bushing on the transmission kick down lever. This modification is a common one for Ford transmissions of this era.
On the highway this car runs smoothly, accelerates well and its power brakes provide smooth, sure stopping power. This is a full sized rear wheel drive automobile that utilizes the body on frame construction. Handling and ride quality is unsurpassed for this design configuration which most manufacturers have now discontinued in favor of front drive unibody designs which offer lower manufacturing costs and lower weight.
RemarksThis is a one of a kind, fully optioned automobile in excellent condition. Please feel free to schedule a personal inspection.
Review the pictures, which have been provided to validate the description. Please note the picture of the trunk with the mat rolled over revealing the original paint on the trunk floor. There is no sign of rust, and the whole car is like that.
The under hood photos show a less than normal amount of dust and grime. No steam cleaning or detailing has been performed on the engine so it is in original condition. The battery is new with the past 12 months. The tire tread is very good on a matched set of premium Goodrich steel belted radial tires. The spare tire has never touched the road.
Both the owner and I are volunteers at our local auto museum and cars like this do not often come around.
