I purchased this special automobile from its 2nd owner in 1992, when it had been in service for 3 yearsand had 15,000 mileson the odometer. The previous owners, both of whom were adults,had meticulouslymaintained and cared for the car,driving it sparingly and storing it in a garage.
During my 24-year stewardship, I have (admittedly) babied the car. Itisalwayskept in a garage andhasnever been beenexposed torain,snow, sleet or hail. Thecarhas Ziebart rustproofing and isrust-freefrom top to bottom, inside and out.There are no dents,dings,nicks or scratches.It has never beeninvolved in an accident.
While numerous expensive upgrades have been made to enhance performance and speed (seelist below),the car has never beenraced. I drive it only on occasion (just 8,000 miles in 24 years),mainly to car shows, where it has won several awards. It has always given me a great deal ofpersonal enjoyment and I know that, in the hands of a caring enthusiast, it will continue to please --and appreciate in value!
The car runs as well (or better) than when it rolled off the assembly line 27 years ago, however,thea/c, power door locks,fuel pressure gauge (on dashboard)and minor paint chipping on the frontbumper need work. (see photos)
