1989 Ford Probe Description
Private party selling a nice 1989 Ford Probe (blue exterior/blue interior) with manual transmission, air conditioning, fuel injection (stock motor), and two-door hatchback option.
Non-smoking owner. Garage kept. All service done by owner (i.e., tire rotation, oil change, air/fuel filters, etc.).
Vehicle passed CA Smog emissions test on July 7, 2016.
The car has a clear CA title plus current, paid DMV registration (renewed March 2016).
Original owner purchased car for use as a local commute car. The original owner sold the vehicle to an auto mechanic who serviced it and prepared it for his high school student upon a sixteenth birthday who declined in favor of another vehicle with an automatic transmission. I acquired it from this person. I would prefer to keep it, however, I am entering graduate school in the fall and thus unable to take it across the country from California to New England.
Car particulars:Smooth ride, excellent comfort, no tears/rips/gashes in seats/interior vinyl is robust in color and not cracked/blemished, windows work without problem, gauges work fine, window wipers function without problem, air conditioning and heater work well, rear defrost works fine, clean interior, Alpine radio with cassette and four interior speakers (great system), dash cover used all the time for best protection of original interior, does not burn oil, runs at lower temperature (intact, clean radiator), starts well (new starter and battery), hatchback works fine (new lifts installed in 2015), seats move/retract/fold down without problem, headlamp motors work without problem, and no tears/rips/gashes in headliner. Original, front (second) license plate in original DMV envelope included. Doors open fine without hitch or snag.
I use Napa Gold filters, Valvoline 530 oil, Red Line fluids/additives/cleaners, and only Chevron Techron fuel. Air/fuel/oil filters replaced and oil changed prior to this listing.
Regarding the mileage, my other car is a 1982 Toyota Corolla (not for sale) with 489,319 miles. My father has a 1988 Honda Accord (original owner/same block, 792,711 miles). We enjoy taking care of our fleet so our cars stay reliable, clean, and ready to use.
Essentially, an original car that is clean, intact, and well-taken care of for local and regional driving.
Repairs/servicing/maintenance at 190,000 miles (2014):
