1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Description

Offered for sale is an American racing legend - a REAL "G" Code 1970 Ford Mustang BOSS 302, with period correct and stamped "DOZ" BOSS replacement engine block, original Hurst 4 speed shifter, and correct rolled under front fenders. Restored in 2007, this low mileage BOSS is in nicely restoredcondition, and has less than 65,000 original miles.

the legendary, high performance, Ford BOSS 302-4V racing engine, this BOSS runs strong and fast, starts easily, and does not overheat or leak oil. With a 3.91 rear-end, this pony is very quick off the line, but still offers good highway performance by turning approximately 3,000 RPMs at 70 MPH. The Hurst shifter is tight and right, and makes this car a real blast to drive. As can be seen by reviewing the pictures, the engine and engine compartment are very clean.

The body and paint are in very goodcondition. Painted in a beautiful Wimbleton White, this BOSS really shines. The BOSS has a very straight body, and has NO visible rust or dents. The floor pans and trunk are solid and in very good shape, and the chrome is in great condition and really shines. The car was originally painted in Grabber blue, but painted in Wimbleton white during 2007 full restoration.

The interior is in very good condition. The dashboard was replaced in 2007, and front seats covers and foam were replaced in 2011 with correct deluxe black vinyl bucket set covers. Both the carpet and headliner are in good condition, with only a small hole in the headliner that has been repaired. All instruments work, including the original deluxe rim blow steering wheel (horn). The windows are in good condition and tinted. There is a very small and barely noticeable scratch in the front windshield caused by previous set of wipers.

The 2007 restoration included rebuild of drive train, new bushings, and new suspension. The car drives straight and very firm with the legendary BOSS racing suspension. The front disc brakes are in excellent working condition, making for quick stops with a great deal of control. The BOSS features the original Magnum 500 wheels, with newer BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Also included are both front and rear spoilers, and rear window louvers. With the 2007 restoration and recent updates, over $80,000 has been invested in this beautiful and strong running racing legend. A copy of the Deluxe Marti report is included in the listing.

The BOSS 302 is truly an American racing legend. Originally introduced in 1969, the BOSS 302 was purpose built to race and dominate the Chevrolet Z/28 Camaro on SCCA Trans-Am road courses. While the Z/28 race teams were able to hold off the 1969 BOSS 302, this was not the case in 1970 when faced against the race car offered for sale in this listing - the legendary 1970 BOSS 302. Lead by driver Parnelli Jones, the 1970 BOSS 302 dominated the Trans-Am series in 1970, making the BOSS 302 an American racing legend, and galvanizing its reputation as the meanest Mustang ever built. The BOSS 302 Mustang truly offers an unsurpassed combination of power, superior performance, and great handling. This American racing legend would be a great addition to any classic car collection and is sure to only increase in value.

Will consider a trade for a 1977 Bandit Y82 Trans Am, 1968-1969 Dodge Charger R/T, or a Shelby Cobra replica.
