Rare 90065 Code, Little Old Lady from Eagle Rock, California car.
Original black plates, 107K chassis miles.
This car has lived in California all its life. It may have blasted across the desert to see Elvis in Vegas, but it has never seen salty roads and rarely seen rain. If you are as afraid of rust as much as I am, and prefer zip codes to vin codes, you’ll appreciate this car.
The original owner was an LA lady named Eugenia, who bought the car new when she was 48 years old. She owned this Mustang up until the time of her death in 2004. It subsequently passed through the family until I purchased it from her grandson, four years ago.
Factory equipped with a 351W, FMX automatic, 9” differential, A/C, power steering and power disk brakes – just like a well-equipped MACH-1.
This car was built to be an exceptional driver, while retaining as much character and originality as possible.
Mach-1 Stuff
This Mustang is a very comprehensive MACH-1 clone/re-creation. It has had the following mostly original (not reproduction) Mach-1 trim added: hood scoop with blinker assembly, hood-pins, flip-open gas cap, sport mirrors with driver inside remote, Mach-1 seats, special door panels, console w/new glove box lid and wood-grain insert, extremely rare clock-delete passenger-side wood-grain glove-box trim (much nicer than that big ugly clock). Also included are 2 wood-grain Mach-1 instrument clusters and the wood-grain radio surround. The dash pad is new and made from original Ford tooling. It also has the Mach -1 rear valance for the dual exhaust.
New Engine
When I purchased the car, the original engine had recently thrown a rod through the oil pan (courtesy of the grandson). I have the original engine and it is included. I fortunately happened upon another 1969 351W that I had rebuilt. The specifications are as follows: .030 over-bore with Keith Black pistons, polished crank, mild Comp-Cams camshaft, Ford SVT GT40 heads, Edelbrock intake and 600CFM carb, Petronics Electronic Ignition, stock exhaust manifolds with dual-exhaust. New motor mounts, flex plate, balancer, oil pan and radiator installed at time of rebuild. I have paperwork on all aforementioned work. The engine runs smooth, starts EZ and runs cool.
The transmission was rebuilt at some time as judged by the lack of grime and shiny torque converter, but I have no paperwork.
Body & Paint
This is a straight solid inland California car with nothing to hide. It has NOT had it floors and quarters hacked out by some halfwit with a Sawzall and smeared with gallons of Bondo. It was not found in a barn, and it has never been sliced apart on a rotisserie. There are many old cars with new paint that hides a multitude of horrors underneath. The whole car including floors, torque boxes, rockers, trunk floor, cowl and shock towers are all rock solid.
This is an original Silver Jade car and was repainted once, probably in the ’80s and currently sports an honest patina. It has all Ford sheet metal with the exception of the re-skinned passenger side door. Eugenia side-swiped someone in a grocery store parking lot at low speed, so I replaced the right front fender with a nice California piece. And I didn’t want a lot of Bondo on this car so I had the right door re-skinned. You can also see in the photos a small scrape by the right rear wheel arch, which was caused by the same minor incident. I have pictures of the original door and fender.
The driver side is almost perfect. There are few small dents visible in the photos and half-dollar size holes in the corners of the left door.
Hood, grill, valance, headlight buckets are original. Front bumper is a replacement. Radiator core support and inner fenders are straight and original. The door jams, under the hood and trunk have original Jade paint. If you want to paint it Silver Jade you can almost do it closed door. If you want to paint it Acapulco Blue or Gulfstream Aqua – you are not buying a Silver Jade paint job.
New Suspension
Original Ford Mustang suspension is marginal at best. I wanted this car to handle, so the following modifications were made:
·Fat Man Fabrications 2” drop spindles,
·Open Tracker Racing roller-bearing upper and lower control arms, and roller spring perches.
·Lower arms are boxed.
·Open Tracker spherical strut rods,
·Grab-A-Track sway bar,
·Full length (uncut) big block springs.
·Shelby control arm drop, Export brace and Monte Carlo bar.
·Grab-A-Track reverse-eye rear GT springs.
·New power-steering box, ram and all P.S. hoses.
· Performance alignment using Open Tracker recommended specifications. Google Open Tracker for further details.
Lots More
The carpet is original and still has the high-heel holes from Eugenia (priceless.) The back seat is original and in great shape, so are the headliner and visors. Kick panels are great too.
The heater core is bypassed, but I have a new unit. I have the original Jade spare wheel and jack. The A/C is not hooked up. Everything under the dash is untouched, and the hoses coming out of the firewall are intact. I also have the compressor, mount and pulley assemblies. I do not have the condenser and dryer. The dash fan works.
Included are two complete wood trim Mach-1 gauge panels. One is a ’69, the other is a ’70. Between the two, you can make a nice panel and you’ll have gauges left over. I did not want to swap this out because the original odometer shows the original mileage on the car.
The gas gauge is not working and probably needs the sending unit. An aftermarket Pioneer stereo and speakers are mounted on the parcel shelf.
I have new trim piece for the front edge of the hood and the rocker-panel chrome trim pieces (they are bent but can be straightened). I also have a new front air dam, the hood pin lanyards, & chrome brake-pedal trim. Mach-1’s had chrome pedal-trim — again, this is a comprehensive clone.
It has nice Coco-type floor mats, which I think look a lot better than the Mach-1 red vinyl carpet inserts. The shoulder belts have been removed.
The wheels are American Eagle 15x7 with excellent 70-series tires. The brakes are like new: rotors, calipers, braided front lines and a new master cylinder.
Lights, blinkers, horn, wipers, door locks, and dome light all work. Hood-mounted turn signal indicators and door courtesy lights are not connected. Some dash lights are out. Windshield has some wiper scratches.
Car is titled in my name and currently registered. A binder full of receipts is included.
Both the original black plates, old vehicle registration cards, and vintage Beverly Hills Ford dealer frames included!
This is a fun, reliable, bitchin’ driver as-is. Painted or not.

I have provided as much information as possible to limit anyone’s “surprise factor.” That being said, this is a 47-year-old car. In terms of body, interior, engine, suspension etc., it is significantly better than most. Remember, this car is from C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A. Rain and snow are great, but not for cars.
