1968 Ford Mustang Base Fastback 2-Door 6.4L
1968 Ford Mustang Description
I bought this fastback on the 23rd of July of this year. I was going to restore it. Previous owner did put a lot of work in this car. The heart and soul is a 390 and the head was rebuilt recently. It has a new cam, timing chain, big stainless steel valves, springs. Everything is comp cams kit. The 390 was been sitting in a crate since 1976 and has 25,000 miles. In 2014 previous owner decided to install the 390 and want to save the 428 super cobra jet.Now the goods on this car::ssbc front disc brakes>port/polished and match port head with SS big valves, new cam( forgot to ask duration and lift) all from comp cams kit.new oil pump. Cobra jet intake manifold and new 4 bbl carburetor.new water pump. New clutch and flywheel. Tremec 5 speed transmission, newly rebuilt, big ford 9" w/ 4:11 gears and limited slip also newly rebuild. Newly rack and pinion (not power) just need a power rack on. New big 3 row aluminum radiator, msd, newer brake and gas lines. Newer gas tanks. New shocks. Newer Shelby style rims. Dakota digital cluster. New long headers and 3" piping. I think CD player in trunk( I think it holds 6cd's ).it has a sport steering and I'll include the big streerin wheel. Also I'll include the complete "RARE" ;428 super cobra jet with quad carburetors with the sale which I bought it separately.( not cheap). I drove her today freeway, she drives straight, tons of power, tremec 5 speed shift very nice. Street rush hour temp. Gauge showing 175 did not pass 180 degrees. Very quick off line ( I guess is the 4:11). Going uphill no sweat. No smoke coming out of tail pipe, also sounds good. Only thing was the steering hard to turn when parallel parking. Morning 1 pump gas pedal starts right up. Check on the garage floor this morning not a single drop of fluid. Reason I'm sellin good friend offered me his restored 67 fastback, or else I keep her. Also included is the Marti Report.
Things need attention:Discoloration rear carpet
Aligning the doors, hood and trunkDefinitely a paint job and minor body repair.( that's up to the new owner)Add power rack to ease turning of the steering wheel.
