Up for auction is a 1949 Ford F-1, rat rod style project truck. The rolling chassis is made up of a brand new 2” x 3” x 3/16” rectangular steel frame that is Zd front and rear, it has parallel leaf spring rear suspension w/ a early Dana 44 rear end open differential and 5 x 5.5” bolt pattern. The front suspension is cross mounted leaf spring, split 35 Ford radius rods and pan-hard bar. The front axle is an original 49 Ford I beam modified for radius rods and has 5.5” bolt pattern. The steering box is also an original 49 Ford unit with a shortened steering column. The cab and box are fully mounted with threaded bungs welded into the frame. The cab has complete new floors and drive shaft tunnel.
There is no engine or transmission and to allow the new owner to fit their own choice of engine and transmission the frame has not been fit with mounts or a transmission tunnel. Mounts and tunnel could be installed for an additional fee. The rear wheels are 16” and the front 15" the tires are just rollers.
The vin plate is intactandnumbers are legible, so in NY all that is needed to register is a rubbing of the vin tag and proof of insurance, not sure on DMV rules in other states.
There is no buy it now and it is also for sale locally so I retain the rite to end the auction early, but high bidder will be notified prior.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to ask any questions.
