1965 Ford Mustang Description
Up for auction is a 1965 (1964 1/2?) Ford Mustang, with a large number of later year and after market parts and components.
Vehicle is sold as-is, and does need some repair and TLC to bring it back to its former glory. Please read the full description and review all photographs before bidding.This Mustang alternated between a hobby car and a daily driver for about 15 years prior to transmission issues and being left unattended for two years.Vehicle and Title will not be released until after payment is received in full.
Parts and Components:This is NOT a restoration vehicle. Sadly I don't know all the specifics of the engine components, but I know it was built to walk the line between drag car and daily driver.

Known Issues:The vehicle has been sitting for approximately two years now. Prior to sitting, it started, idled, and ran in 1st gear without significant issues. When I tried to jump start it recently it made a sluggish sound and the engine would not turn over - this could be due to a lack of gasoline or it could be something else. The following are necessary repairs that I am aware of - please note that I am not a car expert and there could be additional or different issues about which I am ignorant.
TransmissionWould idle and run in 1st gear and reverse, but would not shift out of 1st gear.
ShocksThe front shocks are blown, when turning or going over bumps this caused the wheels to scrape against the body of the car.
Engine MountI think one of the engine mount arms is broken or loose - when running the car vibrates more than it should.
Radiator/CoolingWhile the radiator functioned as it should, I believe the current radiator is too small for the size and power of the engine. Dad's solution was to add an electric fan? This did help prevent overheating on all but the most intense days of driving, but it would still be worth looking into.
Car HornThe standard horn would occasionally blow while making a sharp turn. The horn was disconnected but is still there.
Speedometer Cable MissingThe speedometer cable is disconnected and missing. Naturally the odometer reading is incorrect.
Wear from NeglectSitting for two years has caused additional damage. Most obvious is some water damage to the interior, the partial deflation and rot of the tires, and damage to the paint from when it was left uncovered. Please anticipate any other damages common to vehicles that sit outside for extended periods of time.

This Mustang was my Dad's baby. For over 15 years it would alternate between his hobby car and a daily driver, and it was often going through some manner of repair or upgrade. When he passed away in 2014, it had recently gone back to the shop due to the transmission and shock issues. I couldn't afford the repairs, and had it towed to my house, convinced I would soon have the money to bring it back again. Two years later, and I have to face the reality that I lack the knowledge and resources to bring it back to the glory I remember it as (seriously, this thing was a BLAST to drive). The final push was when a tree fell on our property, missing the mustang by less than a foot. It is difficult to release, but I know it would better serve my father's memory to have this beauty in the care of someone with the knowledge and resources to get it back on the road.
