1990 Ford F-350 Description

Hello in this auction I am selling a good running 1990 FORD F-350 XLT LARIAT 5 SPEED EXTENDED CAB DUALLY PICKUP TRUCK. I purchased this truck 3years ago and it has been very dependable. It starts right up with a little smoke that goes away ( I believe this must be one of the glow plugs) I replaced them all about a year ago but I think one must have went bad, I have 4 brand new ones to include for the winner. This is a great well built solid truck that has never failed me and I am certainly going to miss it once it is gone. I have also put in a brand new rebuilt starter from autozone about 6 months ago and 2 brand new high cranking amp batterys with plenty of reserve power. The 2 front tires are with only 1000 miles on them purchased 6 months ago from Mavis. At the same time I had them check the front end and do a wheel alignment, they told me that the front end was solid and could not find anything wrong. The ignition switch started binding up a year ago which I heard is common on these fords and I removed the steering column out of the vehicle and installed new linkage and a new ignition switch. It works great but the column shaft extension at the bottom of the column(the piece that connects to the steering gear and the shaft) developed a little play. It needs a new extension piece but I have driven it for the last year and it hasn't bothered me(it is safe to drive). I have also tried to fix the power door locks by installing new actuators but they keep popping off the linkage, so the truck has manual locks.I will include another brand new actuator for the winner.Ihave also been told by a mechanic that the rear drum brake hardware sometimes binds up which he told me is common on these fords. The brakes are good but the hardware kit needs to be installed to make it perfect, there is also no parking brake I believe because of this hardware.Another big item that I did with this truck is changed the exhaust system from the engine all the way back to a high performance stainless steel 4" system which was not cheap over $800 and what a difference it made in performance andfuel economy. The sound of the truck is nice with this system allowing the engine to breath better and gaining more horse power. The truck is all original with absolutely no rust on the undercarriage and 2 tiny spots that just started in the lower fenders. When the mechanic was installing my exhaust system he commented on how clean the underbody was and told me he had a ford 15 years newer that was all rusted. The only other thingthat I want to mention is a vibration in the frontat highway speeds. I took the truck back to the place that I purchased the tires from and they rebalanced both front wheels and told me that the right side rim is slightly bent. This balancing improved the vibrating a lot but not 100%.There is also aspare tire under the bed of the truck that might have never been used; it looks good. Cosmeticaly the interior is very decent with nice comfortable seats, no cracks in the dash, non sagging headliner and a good working heating and air conditioning system. Almost forgot, the knob for the wiper broke but you can still turn it and there is only one speed with the wiper and I have removed the radio which is in the center console. The outside body of the truck has those 2 little rust spots and one tiny dentunder the right rear tail light. Also the passenger mirror portion of the passenger door is slightly creased(can hardly notice) from I think somebody hitting the mirror. And lastly the paint is faded and peeling with minor blemishes(SOME AREAS OF THE PAINT LOOK DARKER BECAUSE I STARTED COMPOUNDING IT LAST YEAR BUT NEVER FINISHED). Bottom line I LOVE THIS FORD and I hate to part with it but I am older now and have just purchased a much smaller pickup for my needs. So I don't need this big truck anymore. Good luck bidding and the winner will receive a nice running truck that I believe can drive anywhere. AND THIS IS A PICK UP IN PERSON ONLY.
