1969 Ford Mustang Description
I looked for a rust free, original motor CJ for over 2 years before I found this car, not many left at that time way less now, picked it up theweekend before 9/11/2001.
Was a CostaMesa Ca. car its whole life, the original owner put it on ebay where I was outbid by by a car jockey in Texas, I ended up buying it from him on a auction he had, drove to Texas and picked it up. It had 26000 miles on it.
I drove and worked on Mach for the next four years, It was a very original car except for wear items. I will list the things I replaced or rebuilt, everything else is still original.
Starting with drivetrain, Block was original vin stamped on pad below Driver side head in rear,sonic tested and hot tanked, bored .030 overforged pistons with sealed power rings, stock CJ rods, CJ crank turned .010 rods and mains. New high volume oil pump, new water and fuel pumps.CJ Heads with bronze valve guides, .540 lift 280 durationCom Cams hydrolic camshaft. Dove roller rocker shafts, Dove intake (copy of police intercepter) and 750 Holley vacuam secondaries. Mallery distibuter. stock exhaust manifolds with stainless exhaust(copy of original with muffer opened up some to give nice sound. All original parts to motor are included in sale, carb, intake, dist., rocker shafts, valve covers.
Trans was not original, it is a C6 with a R code modulator, rebuilt does not have castiron tailshaft housing. Shifts just like it should, kick down rod still hooked up. New u joints in drive shaft, N caserear end still has tag,3.25 gears and 31 spline axles are original, took out traction lock and installed Detroit locker.
New ball joints, tie rod ends, and powersteering pump rebuilt. New urethane bushings in sway bars, shocks replaced.
All new wheel and mastercylinders, Dot 5 brake fluid new pads and shoes, drums and rotors turned. Wheels are repo Magnum 500s with Firestone tirers like new, or buyer has choice of original GT 14" with goodyear tires that have some miles but chrome and rings are spotless.
Intererior is mostly original and very nice, will list things replaced or that have flaws.Carpet replaced, side vinyl panel on Dr seat replaced new cushenin bottom seat, headliner has a hole about the size of a dime by mirror, dash has a couple of cracks that will not show in pics, door pulls were cracked and repaired, carpet on back of fold seat was redied, AM radio does not work(would rather listen to big block Ford) clock works but looses 20 min per day. Trunk has new mat, spare is one of the Gt wheels, jack and tire iron original. Floor mats are original. Rim blow wheel works and is nice.
Body was plastic bead blasted down to metal, only damagefoundwas on pass side quarter panel no rust through anywhere. Galoway body shop did the paint and replaced pass side quarter. Body was epoxie primed with base/ clear coat, 4 coats of diamond clear were used and wet sanded to perfection, there are a few small chipps that wont show up in pics, car has been driven about 4000 miles since paint was done. Shaker and hood repainted to factory specs, shaker vacuam motor replaced works perfect. All stainless buffed to a nice shine, chrome strips below doors on rocker panels were replaced all other chrome original.Gas cap has some pitting. Glass is all original carlite with no chipps or cracks.
Have build sheet from under dr side seat, also Butchie Boy Classics did an appraisal in 2008 of $68000.
