1961 Ford Falcon Description

Great looking '61 Falcon in Mercury White. All restoration done by prior owner as shown in and on the cover of the Falcon club magazine, issue October 2011. I purchased with the intent of replacing the drive train and making it a cruiser but life has other plans for me. Manual 3 speed conversion from an automatic by prior owner-original gearing in tranny are unchanged. Futura interior in beautiful Ivy Gold/Green-very well done and in fantastic shape. Car is a mix of hand-picked parts as the prior owner was a Falcon parts dealer for many years so the odometer is inaccurate at 83,000. No rust showing as it is a dry Montana car-slight bubbling under rear passenger post next to window about the size of my pinky.

Exterior-Imron paint in Mercury white with a few imperfections although driver quality and a solid ten footer no rust showing: a few small cracks, one small body stress crack on front passenger panel-see pic. Deluxe trim. Some pitting on bumpers and door handles, the pot metal trim is in excellent shape. Glass good with no cracks but does have nicks due to rocks. Passenger floor pan replaced during prior restoration, I am not seeing any rust underneath on the shell.

Interior-Ivy gold, excellent looking, seats look new, rug is clean, dash looks good, digital fuel and temp gauges. The prior owner changed out the shifter on the tree to a floor manual, therefore some of the column items have been moved to buttons below the dash-wiper fluid, horn, and an additional fan switch for the radiator. Rockers look good as seen in pics. Radio turns on but I have never tried to use it. Stress cracks on door panels by triangular windows see pics.

Engine-Recent work in the past month by mechanic: carburetor rebuild, new vacuum advance, shift linkage maintenance, plugs, front brakes and cylinders, alignment. Fuel pump leaks a drop or two of oil after driving and parking but no other leaks detected. Inline 6 runs great and putters along but should be gone over. The fuel pump probably needs assistance as the car does not respond well to jumping on the throttle. Steering box could use a little tightening up. Car warms up well with choke use and drives great around town and on the highway. Comfortably moves on the highway at 60.

I am not a mechanic and am trying to represent the car to the best of my abilities, however this car is 55 years old and is sold as is. I constantly get compliments on it but it is temperamental until it warms up just like any old classic. I have had all maintenance performed by a mechanic and he feels it is a solid piece of American Steel that looks great and could be phenomenal with a few touch ups. Most of the hard work is done.

Please ask questions, I will happily take more pics.
