What You Need to Know
We're proud to offer for your consideration this 1964 Ford Thunderbird. During the late 50's and early 60's the Thunderbird had a unique styling that was very modern with smooth long lines and a lower stance than other cars of the time. The jet-age cockpit and flight deck instrument panel are hints of the trend-setting ideas you'll find in this T-Bird. The 64' T-Bird was the debut of the 4th generation of theThunderbird and was the only model year to have the word "Thunderbird" on the front of the hood instead of just an image of the Thunderbird. T-Bird sales in 64' were up nearly 50% from the year before at 92,465.
This classic T-Bird features what we believeto bethe original 390 V8 and powers this 64' down the road with ease. It looks to be all original under the hood and with not much money and a little TLC you could make it bling. The paint isn't the original color but looks fantastic. Everyone who looks at the car just loves the color as it appears to even change colors in different light. The only issues we're aware of are the AM radio not working, (owner states it just needs a new speaker), and air conditioner not blowing cold air. The vehicle was appraised in 2013 for 22-25k.
The vehicle is currently owned by one of our fine U.S. Veterans who has put a lot of his hard earned money into this vehicle already for you. You'll get all the receipts with your new T-Bird. All the work listed below that you might typically wonder if you'll have to do soon when buying a 52 year old car has already been done. Keepthis mind when making your offer.
  • Suspension and brake work, 2/2012. New upper and lowerball joints, all the control arm brushings, all four tie rod ends and tie rod sleeves, strut rod bushing kit, coil spring insulators, drag link, and sway bar bushings. Replaced all four wheel cylinders, front wheel seals, and front brake hose.
  • All new engine gaskets, 2/2012. Gaskets replaced - oil pan, timing cover, water pump, oil filter housing, head gaskets, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, and valve covers.
  • Exhaust repair and new mufflers 2012
  • New rear seal and bushing 2012

We do our best to inspect vehicles we sell in every detail and note any imperfections in our listings. Despite this we cannot guarantee that every gauge, light, option, etc., will work as it should. Given the nature of the classics we sell these components can be working at one moment and not working at another moment. It's common these types of components will need upkeep or attention. In addition these vehicles often sit for long periods of time and once you begin to drive them seals harden and gaskets leak.Classic cars do tend to leak. Unless otherwise noted the classics we sell for our clients are mileage-exempt, meaning we do not know the actual, original miles. The information listed is based on the current odometer reading and cannot be used as fact. Most of these vehicles do not have Carfax or similar history reports, unless the vehicle is 1981 or newer. We always recommend shipping the vehicle versus a long road trip. We work with only the best shippers and will be glad to assist you in getting your investment to your garage.
Check out our feedback and bid with confidence. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged by appointment. We have the right to sell this classic at any time if an offer is accepted so if your interested in owning this classic Ford T-Bird be sure to make us an offer, don't just watch. Good luck!
