1940 Ford 2 DOOR SEDAN DELUXE Description
NO RESERVE!!! HIGHEST BID WINS!!!
You're looking at a friend of mine's 1940 Ford two-door sedan. It's an old gasser drag car from the late '50s. No motor, no transmission. The rear end was updated to a stronger Merc banjo rear end during its racing career. It is a very straight and solid car. It has two-tone blue and white interior (original interior is underneath). The lower part of the firewall has been cut (as shown). The floors are extremely nice with only a couple of small rust holes. One very small hole in the trunk (as shown). The dash is complete with all the trim and accessories. The rear fender openings were modified to accept large cheater slicks. It is a California car with a clean (no liens) California title in his name. 15-inch steel wheels. The tires are just rollers. All the glass needs to be replaced due to the California sun. The car rolls and steers very easy. No brakes. The frame is stock with no modifications. The hood scoop is fiberglass. The extra parts (as shown) go with the car. I was very sunny out the day I took pictures, so the underside of the car has a redness to it which looks like rust. It's not. It's just poor lighting. There are spots underneath the car that look like rust holes but are actually the original shiny black paint.
These almost rust-free California cars are hard to come by! I would drop a motor and trans in it, put some cheater slicks on the back and drive it the way it is with the authentic vintage patina.
Check out the custom van with the insane paint job I have up for auction this week!
