1966 Ford Bronco Description

This project started as a very good condition 1966 U14 Bronco. It had been re-painted one time and had never been altered. There was a minimal amount of rust. The body was very straight and very little body work was required. The restoration started August 2015 and was completed April 2016. It has 38.7 miles on it since the restoration. I have many photos of the restoration and receipts for the work that was done.

It was put together with all of the original body panels, new parts as listed, and built to be “As close as it was received from the factory in 1965!!”

Disassembly:I did the disassembly, built the rotisserie, removed the body from the frame and put it on the rotisserie. I removed, replaced, and welded the floor pans and inner fender rust areas. Every nut, bolt, and part was removed for 100% disassembly.

Prep:All of the seam sealer was removed before it was blasted. Every body part was 100% media blasted on all sides. There was NO RUST found in any other areas not described above. NO WHERE!! All parts were 100% primed and seam sealer added to all area while it was on the rotisserie.

First Paint:The underside of the body, engine compartment, and the front and rear fender wells were painted while it was on the rotisserie.

Frame:The frame was pressure washed, sanded, and wire brushed. It had 1 coat of POR 15 and 1 coat of POR 15 Chassis Coat applied. The engine, transmission, and T-case were rebuilt and reinstalled in the frame.

Second Paint:The body was then installed with new mounts and bolts. It was returned to the body shop for the final paint with base coat clear coat. After it was painted it was color sanded and polished to a flawless mirror finish. Many of the photos show the clouds and reflective items in it. There is no orange peel or imperfections in it.

Engine, Transmission and T-caseThe Engine was completely rebuilt. It was bored, new pistons and rings, crank was turned with new bearings, new solid lifer cam and lifters, timing chain, valves were ground and hardened seats were installed, new springs and retainers, and gaskets and seals. The carburetor was rebuilt. There is a new oil pump and water pump. The transmission was disassembled, new shift arm seals were installed, newsynchronizers, bearings, and seals. The transfer case hadnew seals and gaskets installed.

D30 frontendCompletely disassembled and cleaned. New inner axle seals, outer axle seals, axle u-joints, wheel bearings, spindle bearings and seals, carrier bearings, wheel cylinders, brake pads, flex brake lines and spring kits. The drums were turned. New C-bushings, new radius arm bushings, new trac-rod bushings. The Warn hubs are original and an early style. They have pins from the outside hub to the inside unit.

9” rearendNew axle bearings and seals, new carrier bearings, new factory Ford posi clutch pack, new pinion seal, wheel cylinders, brake pads, and spring kit. The drums were turned.
