1963 Ford Thunderbird Description
I have the pleasure of offering a very good customers 1963 Ford Thunderbird at NO RESERVE BID ON THIS CAR TO OWN IT!!!!! A wonderful example of a great American classic. The car was always garaged and dry, a minor mechanical restoration and refinish was performed several years ago on a solid car. All original floors and body panels, an especially nice car when viewed from the bottom as you can truly appreciate the solid platform from which this car was built from.A very small 8" line of rust along a seam on the passenger side floor is the only thing I saw that even hinted it saw a wet day. The original 390 CID engine PURRS at the first hit of the key with a nice healthy exhaust note,no smoke or noises, new exhaust manifolds and a highly detailed engine bay make you want to lift the hood,it is super clean. The transmission shifts flawlessl, this car is a PLEASURE to drive. The suspension has been gone through as well as the brakes and alignment. The car tracks well and stops straight and true with its Power Drum brakes. The paint on the car is exceptionally nice,a higher end prep and refinish in its original color. I will rate it as a 9+ on a scale of 1 to 10.There is a couple of small driving "imperfections" including a mentionable scratch under body line above right front tire(alignment shop slip with camera) but I will try to highlight them in a couple of shots. No disappointments on the paint or panel fit on this car,its beautiful. The stainless and trim are all excellent, strong shine with little to no oxidation, all were polished at time of paint .A couple of pieces have very minor dings, easy to address if you are interested in doing so. This Thunderbird is always complimented by all who see her.In my opinion, the interior is what would benefit the most from a "finishing detail". The interior front and rear seats have been professionally recovered with the correct restoration quality seat covers and foams. Seat belts have been added just to bring this vehicle up to date (Macs Replacements) . The headliner and sunvisors are also replacements in the correct grains and patterns, very nicely done. The dash pad is in need of replacement or restoration,it has cracks extending from speaker openings at all 4 sides. Also showing signs of wear are the armrests, both sides have noticeable splitting, available in the aftermarket and would be a deserved upgrade.Knee bolsters have turned a bit "aqua" colored, as is the console cover, also discolored by age. Carpet is new with padding, very nice job. All interior chrome is present and also requires some upkeep, with a metal polish it cleans up nicely, very slight pitting is present but does not detract from the cars appeal at all. This is a great "Local Car Show" favorite, it presents itself very well and will take you ANYWHERE! For the discriminating collector a modest interior upgrade would do the trick, for the average weekend enthusiast, throw some lawn chairs in the trunk and go anywhere from a car show to the beach or wineries, it is well equipped, well sorted out and reliable. This is a 53 year old car that has been especially well preserved, it has had a great life with 2 owners and will need only minor Interior detailing and touch up but I can promise you when it comes off the car carrier or when you fly in to pick it up you will not be disappointed. Feel free to contact me by email and we can exchange information to speak personally. THE CAR IS LOCATED ON LONG ISLAND NEW YORK ZIP 11746

Very solid car, new ball joints, springs shock, no need to budget in for suspension rebuild.
