EXTREMELY RARE 1971 GMC JIMMY THAT IS ROCK SOLID AND RUST FREE! ORIGINALLY HUGGER ORANGE WITH BLACK BUCKETS. NEW CRATE MOTOR AND A BUNCH OF OTHER WORK - THIS THING RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT! PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION OR CUSTOM PROJECT.
We just picked up this amazing 1971 GMC Jimmy that had been in storage for many years. The previous owner is believed to be the second owner and has owned it for nearly 30 years. The odometer reads 30,487 which we can’t confirm to be original, but it very likely could be due to the condition. It is amazing how rock solid and rust free this truck is. Even the frame does not have any rust!
This Jimmy is a true California truck with virtuallyno rust or rot. It was originally Hugger Orange with Black Bucket seats and the optioned double insulated white top. The interior and paint were "upgraded" at some point in its life and the grill and tailgate were updated to a Chevrolet K5, but it can easilybe brought back to its glory. From the service parts identification sticker in the glove box, you can also see it was heavily optioned.

The exterior is exceptional! There is literallyno rust or rot. There is some body filler in the driver's door and on the hood, but it appears to be due to a lazy dent repair, not rust. There is also one small spot on the passenger floor this about about the size of a quarter that has rusted through, but beside that the rockers, doors, floors, tailgate, rear floor and even the frame are all rock solid and rust free.
Mechanically it is very good. The pervious owner had just put a rebuilt "crate" 350 in it that sounds and runs great. It has a set of headers, newer exhaust and the brakes, front end and suspension all appear to have been servicedrecently.
