1971 GMC 5500 Dually Toro-flow Diesel Rat Rod Hauler Chevy Chassis No Reserve
1971 GMC 5500 Description
This is a 1971 GMC 5500 cab and chassis that I picked up and was going to build. I have way to many projects and just don't have the time for this one. I thought about either shortening the frame and running a dually pickup box or putting it on a 1/2 or 3/4 ton frame. Either way it would make a nice project for someone. It has a Toro-flow diesel engine which is stuck from sitting. It was running when parked without any issues and sat inside a building for a very long time. I have not tried to get the motor to turn but it does have a rebuilt injector pump that was put on it at some time. IT DOES NOT RUN AND WILL HAVE TO BE HAULED. It has a manual transmission the clutch is free and the transmission shifts as it should. The truck rolls and steers without any issues. The interior of the truck is pretty basic as they were back then. The seat is shot as a raccoon tore all of the foam out of it. There were about a dozen vehicles all parked inside with the windows down and every one of them had the seat ripped up. I do have a decent seat out of a C10 cab that you can have if you want not sure if it is an exact fit or not but it is out of a 69 truck so it should be close. This truck will fit on a standard car trailer as I brought it home on one. I do have a good title for the truck as well.
