This is a 1953 GMC half ton Pickup Truck that spent the majority of its life in Texas. It has a fresh 350 engine, 400 Turbo Transmission, dual exhaust, a C10 front stub with disc brakes and power steering.

This Truck came out of Texas about five years ago. We obtained it only a couple of years ago as a basket case. The C10 front stub had been installed but everything else, we had finished. Our goal was to build a fun Truck that wasn't going to break the bank and wasn't going to break our hearts if something happened to it.
The cab of the truck is fairly solid. There are some pin holes in areas of the floor and within the drivers side cab corner. Outside of that, the Truck is pretty solid. Within the floor of the Truck, there was a hole cut out to make room for the transmission. Now covering that hole is the Texas plate that came with the Truck. That brown is what the Truck came to us in and it appears to have been on there for quite some time if not from the factory. We did black out the grill and the emblems but kept the one on the tail gate in its original color. We also installed one new side window and a new windshield. We redid the bed of the Truck in a Red Mahogany and it turned out really well. The reason for us redoing the bed in the format that we did is because at some point, someone had welded down a piece of metal over the old existing bed and to remove that metal would have been pretty labor intensive. So we kept it and just went over it.
The 350 engine that is in this Truck is in excellent working order. We just finished installing it about a month ago. We haven't put but maybe 20 miles on it so far. It has an Edelbrock four barrel that sits on a Holley intake. It is tuned up nicely and sounds great which is due largely in part to the dual exhaust that we turned downside under the bed. The 400 Turbo transmission shifts smoothly with out any issues. The disc brake setup works well as does the power steering.

Within the interior of the Truck, we redid the bench seat to go with the flow of the Truck. The guy we hired did a really nice job on the seat. The door panels are the originals. The steering wheel and column are out of a 61 GMC.

The only things left to do with the Truck is an alignment, new tires, and window felts. This Truck in my opinion rides the line between a cool Patina hot rod and a rat rod. It's a lot of fun and there is definitely enough room in it to take it to the next level. I do have a clear title for this GMC. I also have this GMC for sale locally and would like to reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell prior to the auction ending.
