1985 GMC Vandura G3500 Vandura G Series Base Description

This is a conversion van done by National Motor Coach (Chino, CA.) Instead of cutting off the back section of a new van and putting on a huge box, they did something awesome. The area behind the Cab is a sleeper/crew section (Fiberglass...) with a bench seat that folds down into a bed. I'm 6'2" and have plenty of extra room. Electricity for the sleeper comes from a factory auxiliary deep cycle battery system. The Truck bed is metal (diamond plate...) and the fenders/rear panels are fiberglass. The pair of Truck boxes are my own design/build in order to carry/store all the items needed when traveling with a motorcycle or quad. The boxes are lightweight (relatively...) and can be unbolted to slide off the back if not needed. The bar/braces at the rear tailgate get out of the way in less than 5 minutes. The combination of the dually rear wheels and the light weight (fiberglass...) chassis make for a very even/stable ride even in cornering where a regular van tends to ROLL sideways.
This is Not an old, worn-out, or neglected vehicle from 1985. It was when I first got it in 2006 with 70K miles. From 2006 to 2009 I did a major refit/service to prepare it for touring this USA continent. It started with installing a re-manufactured engine and moved on to every key component that made the vehicle accelerate, roll, steer, stop, and much more. The list of new parts on the chassis is way too long for this ad. The majority of work was done by me, a trained auto mechanic (in my first career...) who went on to work/retire at IBM (Robotics.) Since that refit I have put less than 15K miles on the vehicle touring. Repair and service record available upon request
Currently the vehicle is set up to haul a motorcycle or quad and all the stuff needed to get Gone and STAY gone for as long as desired even if it's only for a long weekend. EG: Last tour I did was through 7 states with my motorcycle and I took 4 months to do it. (Lots of excellent roads worth doing and plenty of Disc Golf courses along the way.) Encountered many people who had the RV versions of this truck but after seeing this rig wished they had it instead. Well, here's your chance.

Price is NOT going down just in order to sell.. This is a rare/collectable vehicle (see National Coach Sticker) and one of only 6 made AFAIK. Will list for $11K price this year and next year it will be $12K. If no one buys then I'll be more than happy to keep it here in rust Free Arizona, under cover, and drive it every so often just because it's SO COOL to have. ^_^

E-mail me for details, more pics, or any questions. I don't do text messages. (O_o)
