1951 GMC Pickup Truck Description

Up for auction is a beautiful 1951 GMC pickup that has been with the same owner for 28 years and has spent its entire life in sunny, dry Central California. This rust free, great running California truck was restored in 2004 and still is show worthy today. This GMC has covered just 2,362 miles since its restoration and runs excellent. I am selling this for a friends father who has become ill and can no longer enjoy driving itWhen it was restored by the current owner it was converted from a 6 volt electrical system to a modern 12 volts system which includes an alternator for fast reliable charging of the battery and LED tail lights for safety. The original six cylinder engine was replaced with a stronger 235 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine that idles smoothly and pulls well but retains the look of the original engine. It still retains the original 3 speed manual transmission on the column and works well. The original wheels were widened by one inch to allow the fitment of modern tires which makes a HUGE improvement on driveability over the original skinny cross ply tires. It still has the original spare wheel and tire. The exterior of the truck is very nice as can be seen by the photos. The chrome is still perfect and the paint is excellent aside from two very small blemishes that can probably be polished out ( I can send photos of blems if requested) The glass and rubber are also as new.The interior shows no signs of wear and the rebuilt gauges and lights all work. it comes with a vintage car cooler and traffic light indicator. The underbody is nice except for 2,000 miles of dust. A good cleaning and detail of the underside would bring it up to show quality standards.Overall this is an excellent example of a rare upscale GMC truck and can be enjoyed immediately.Feel free to email or call me (Simon 559 349 3109) with any questions.
