1949 GMC
This truck is all steel including fenders, original Kansas Patina, body off frame, approximately 2 years ago.
Mostly original frame and body mounts except front clip which is from a 1969 Camaro, 4-wheel disc brakes, drop spindles and coilovers on front with power steering and triangulated 4 link with coilovers on rear so it drives and stops like it should.
LS1 engine with 4L60E transmission, aluminum block and matching 4L60E transmission – no leaks.
Aluminum radiator with electric fan, runs cool.
No mechanical issues, we have driven the truck extensively over the last year or so.
New window glass and rubber, added large visor from late 40’s, early 50’s.
Dolphin gauges, custom upholstery and shifter. The truck has dual Flowmaster exhaust.
The doors, hood, tail gate and grille are original to the truck, interior and under hood have new paint.
Exterior is as it has been for the last 60+ years.
Original grille with GMC badges.
20” Ridler wheels on front and rear, new gas tank.
Vintage air A/C and heat.
Rough cut and weathered cypress hinged bed.
The cab interior and dash was upgraded to modern standards with a set of brand new, original look Dolphin quad and speedo gauges.
We installed a new 200 watt, AM/FM radio with RCA outputs if you want to add more amplifiers. You can also connect your iPod, MP3 player, DVD or satellite radio via the integrated auxiliary inputs. The radio’s tuner is USA/European compatible and even has a digital clock.
Truck is solid with only the surface rust you see and an eraser sized hole in the bottom of the original cab corner. We drive the truck two to three times a week. It is very dependable and a cool attention getter.
