1963 GMC Carryall
I bought this truck about 10 years ago in Denver, CO. Didn’t take much to get it running. I drove it around for a while, then brought it out to Calif. Drove it some more on visits, but mostly just stored.
Has 305E V6 engine and 4 speed on the floor, Granny trans. Ive had several Chevy trucks this era, and they are all coil spring and trailing arm rear suspension. Not sure if all GMC’s, but this truck has leaf spring rear end, and appears to have posi, or limited slip differential. Kind of a monster crawler!
The body is pretty nice. I don’t think its ever been apart. All body seams are perfect, and straight as an arrow. Never hit. No signs that its ever been repainted. It has rust in the fender corners, door corners, rockers and lower areas of the rear quarters. Floors are pretty nice, with some rust through under the drivers left foot. Tail gate assembly is nice, but missing the strut rods that hold up the lift gate.
It appears that the front top shock mounts were moved from mid-frame to top of frame horns, as a lowering technique. Coils were probably heated to shorten as well. Rides fine.
The interior is very good, with a nice dash, nice steering wheel, nice seats including original split bench with tilt passenger seat, and the middle rear seat.
It ran when I parked it two years ago. It’s turning over, but I cant get it to fire, and don’t have time to mess with it.
111,902 miles showing
Tires are a good rollers, but some sidewall cracking. Some of the pictures show original style wheels. It currently has white wagon style wheels.
Colorado Title in my name.
I live in a remote area. You can get your truck and car trailer in, but no turn around for semi-trucks. If shipping, I can trailer to Mariposa to meet the carrier. Please make arrangements in advance. Brakes work.
