And that’s how we got her. Texas truck, from up in East Texas, they used the truck around the farm and drove her to our offices (175 miles). We saw a diamond in the rough, we clay barred and wet sanded the paint, looks great! Not perfect, but wow for most people. We detailed the interior that was in great shape as well. We removed engine, disassembled and sent to machine shop for cleaning and machine work. We had the crankshaft polished and replaced the main bearings (010) and rod bearings (.010), cylinder bore is (.030), replaced piston rings. Installed new camshaft with .519 lift on-take and exhaust with a 284 duration on both. We installed a new double roller timing chain with cam stop button, installed new high-volume oil pump and pickup screen, new hydraulic lifters. Machine shop did a valve job and surfaced cylinder heads, we then assembled engine with new gaskets, and seal, replaced water pump, all hoses, spark plugs, ignition wires, alternator, distributor cap and rotor, had the original heavy duty radiator rodded out and replaced the cap, new v-belts, corrected and routed wiring in engine bay, new side marker lens, new wood grain on side moldings, new battery, new battery cables, installed k&n air cleaner assembly, new wiper blades, new coolant overflow bottle and hoses, new washer bottle, charged a/c system. Black book value is almost forty thousand dollars for a small block truck in excellent shape, this is a high optioned big block truck in black. Let the bids begin, we are fair on price. They don’t make them like this anymore. Call us at 281-530-6000 Collector Motors, Houston, Texas.
