I found this 1 family owned pickup in the high desert of eastern Oregon. This truck is original paint, 99.9% rust free, mechanically excellent. This is an un-molested, never taken apart, no serious body damage, no wrecks as evident by original paint. Truck has 105,xxx original mile. I live in the prime region for these trucks, have owned 3 dozen, but still very rare to find a clean original paint un-restored truck this rust free. 1972 is the last and most coveted year of the Chevy and GMC 4x4. I’ve driven the truck 50 miles, runs/drives excellent, I was very surprised how tight the truck is, and how well it goes down the road and stops. I have the truck listed locally for $8500 FIRM, the 1st local or eBayer that agrees to buy the truck at that price owns it, these usually don’t make it to the end of the auction. I’m a licensed vintage car appraiser, I’m in rural areas often appraising and find good vehicles that are never listed for sale publicly, most of these come from people living in towns that barely have land lines and some even off the grid, most without internet. I buy all the good vintage iron I can find, scouring craigslist in urban areas rarely come up with gems like this. It’s hard and sometimes scary approaching people in these areas as they usually want to be left alone, but that’s my idea of a good time, I have met a lot of great people along the way, if that’s not your jam or you don’t have time to scour back roads in the high NW desert areas, click and buy from home, I have all the contacts in place to make this a seamless transaction.

MECHANICAL
The original 350 motor and TH-350 Auto transmission were rebuilt at the same time around 98k miles, so low miles on both. This truck is very original down to the quadrajet carb, points distributor and intake. Gear driven part time 205 transfer case, power steering, factory power disc brake front axle, both 8 lug ¾ ton. Dual exhaust with hot rod glass pack mufflers. HD radiator, the original AM radio works. This truck cruises along very well, really a pleasure to drive.
BODY
Original paint and all sheet metal. The paint is fading, factory primer coming through in spots. Incredibly clean bed and tail-gate, obviously very well cared for. Most 4x4’s were used in the NW and are beat to hell, this one has one of the best original body I’ve seen. Original rocker panels, only 1% of these years trucks I’ve seen have good original rockers. Only tiny bit of rust to speak of is in the floor near the rocker on the driver side about the size of a dime with a few pin holes near it, and the same area passenger side just pitting not through, pics will show. The tires are in excellent shape around 90% tread. Obviously from the pics it needs some cosmetic restoration, but it’s never been taken apart, huge plus. Clear coating the original paint can be done to retain the original look (super popular trend right now) or this is the PERFECT candidate for an original full restoration if you plan that route, you will save thousands on this truck without the massive typical rust and dent repair. This pickup was primarily used for recreation with a small pickup camper on it most of its life, hence the mint bed and tailgate.
