1973 GMC Jimmy Description

OVERVIEW. Up for sale is a completely restored 1973 GMC Jimmy Blazer with big power and suspension. The theme of this build was to keep it as original as possible with the addition of modern day technology for horsepower and reliability.

This car is truly a work of art. The pictures do not show justice whatsoever. I am not a photographer and the pictures are from my phone. I do not know how to demonstrate how bad @ss this vehicle is with pictures. I'm sorry. My hope is that the pictures and description will show a fraction of what it is.

I have spent over a year restoring it as my full time job. I purchased the vehicle from Arizona so that the starting platform would have the least amount of rust as possible. I disassembled the truck to the bare frame so that it could be sand blasted properly. Frame axles hood hinges radiator support and seat brackets and everything else black that was Sand blessed was primer and painted with industrial tractor trailer hi quality paint so that the beauty will last for years does not chip easy and is very durable . There were only 2 rust spots on the floor board that needed repair, which I did, of course. The entire under body is coated with high quality bed liner so that rust will never be an issue. I approached each vehicle category as if it were it’s own project. Each section will tell you which parts are still original (OEM), which parts are new with a general description.

I have tried to be descriptive as possible. There have been no short cuts taken on this vehicle. The money and time have been spent to create a true master piece of vintage American history.

Exterior: The jimmy has been repainted the original color, Metallic Lime Green. The pictures do not show the quality of the paint job. It is a 3 stage paint job with and epoxy primer to function as a sealer. Entire body was stripped to bare metal. Many months were spent making it as close to perfect as possible.

The restoration has the origional OEM grill. OEM emblems. OEM headlight vessels. OEM front blinkers. OEM new bumpers and license plate bracket. OEM roof rack on OEM camper. OEM stainless steel wiper arms. New body molding and marker lights. New oem stainless steel mirrors. Body is all original except the front fenders. The camper shell is painted flat white and color to match dash and seats inside.

Interior: The interior is reapolstered. It is modeled after the original colors and designs. The bed panels are made from a waterproof material and stitched to resemble the oem design. The seats are were recovered to follow the factory stitch pattern. Many of the interior parts are still OEM. It has the OEM door pedal set. OEM glovebox. OEM door handles. New OEM window handles . OEM rear arm rest with oem ash trays. OEM front console that was restored with the original chrome bracket. OEM rear view mirror. Interior has new carpet and sound deadening material though out sides of bed and fender wells New wood grain on the door panels. new arm rest on door panels. New instrument cluster bezel. With the original gauges. With new dash pad all interior was painted with high quality Sem Interior paint.stereo mount never cut out and no speaker holes ether.

Electrical: Car has been equipped with a brand new 20 circuit wiring harness. There is a spot for the addition of a stereo or any electronic device that you wish to add. It has a new engine wire harness made by Howell Engineering. The computer is a factory Chevy Vortec ecu that has been reprogrammed and tuned. 5300 rpm rev limit. Transmission codes deleted. Factory alarm removed. OBd installed for Check Engine Code scanning. New battery. New Alternator. New battery cables. new starter.

Wheels: Original deep dish rally rims with new beauty ring and center cap. USED Crusher Dick Cepek Tires. size 35/12.50/15.

Suspension and Steering: Brand new Sky Jack 4 inch lift kit. New shocks. New steering stabilizer shock. New ball joints. New tie rod ends. New seals for the front and rear axles. Steering Box is tight and does not have slop in steering. Drives excellent. Not bouncy whatsoever. It rides super smooth.

Exhaust: Brand new 2 ½” dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Long tube headers from JEGS. Brakes: Brand new master cylinder. New steel braided front brake lines. new brakes. All New e-brake cables.

Glass: All new weather seals around glass doors every where except camper shell windows. All weather seal on shell are all new .side glass are in excellent condtion .windshield washer motor and tank. New washer lines.all original Glass except windshield. Drivetrain: The engine is pushing 500 horsepower.

Engine: 1998 Chevy Vortec 454. Multiport fuel injection. Fully rebuilt with new pistons, rods, rings, new camshaft, new cam bearings, new crankshaft, new crankshaft bearings, new harmonic balancer, new valve guides. new valve seals, all new gaskets, all new oil seals, new Mass Airflow Sensor, new fuel injectors, new MSD spark plug wires, and new air filter. It has a steel braided accelerator cable, new steel braided transmission kick down cable. Steel braided hoses. New PVC valve. New Radiator. New oil Pump. Original radiator support. fan is OEM and color matched to the exterior color. New high volume water pump. New spark plugs. New alternator. New power steering pump. New power steering lines. New ignition coil. New oxygen sensors. New knock sensor. New motor mounts.

Transmission: This vehicle shifts super smooth. The transmission is the original turbo 350. It has been completely rebuilt. Vehicle has a New torque convertor and clutch. The transfer case has rebuilt with new seals. New Transmission Mount. New transfer case mounts. AIR Conditioning: The truck does not have working air conditioning. Most of the AC parts are still there. It’s missing the compressor and the condenser. Factory AC could work again but it needs the bracket to mount the compressor. I was not able to locate one. Fuel: New fuel lines. New fuel sending unit.

As you can see, this car put together very professionally. There were no short cuts taken whatsoever. I have been OCD about attention to details. I have watched all of the blazer restorations on ebay for the past year. I have taken many notes about what not to do. This is a just completed fresh build it is not being driven and has only been test drive to make sure no leaks and everything is working properly so it does not have anything else like rock chips it is fresh and is not being driven what you see in pictures is what you will get.
