1991 Honda Civic Base Hatchback 3-Door 1.5L No Reserve
1991 Honda Civic Description
I bought this 1991 Honda Civic with 74,000 miles a few years ago. It now has 114,554. It was from south of Baltimore originally and has only seen two winters up here. I just got it inspected last month. Everything is stock down to the radio, no aftermarket parts have been put on except for some really nice speakers I put in. It had no rust when I bought it but started to develop a very small amount near 3 of the fenders after the two winters. After I had it inspected last month I used bondo to patch and painted. It looks good now and I got all the rust out so it should prevent any more for a good long time. I was going to continue to drive it as I think this car will see 300,000 miles. I just today got an awesome deal on a Mitsubishi SUV that was too good to pass up so I am getting rid of my little red civic. This car consistently gets 35-40 MPG I clock it quite often. I had the timing belt replaced around 90,000 miles. I have the receipt for that and there are also a ton of receipts from the original owner showing the maintenance she routinely did to it.
Problems that will probably need to be addressed in the future:
I think the clutch is starting to go. If you were to test drive it you might not even notice, but I know this thing quite well and it feels just a little "different." It could last a lot longer but I want to make anyone interested aware. The muffler recently got loud (like one of those aftermarket exhausts that you hear that the kids put on). If I were to keep this car I would replace it. There is a crack in the windshield. I would think about replacing the rear tires in the future, front look good. My mechanic said one of the front struts will need to be replaced at some point. There are some dents in the ceiling from my ice shanty, and some rips in the seat and cracks in some of the plastic. The dash light does not work, it's been this way since I bought it and I never fixed. I just use a little tiny bendable flashlight which I will include. The seat belt warning beep will beep if the passenger seat belt is not buckled. The air conditioning was very cold when I first got it, but now not so much and I have not recharged it. The blower only blows well when on recirculate for some reason. That is all that I can think of.
If you have any questions please e-mail me. This is a 25 year old car and it looks like it. With a little TLC you could return it to its former glory or you could turn it into a racer, there are unlimited aftermarket parts for these. Please do not bid without test driving or viewing the car. It is located in LeRoy, NY. Please e-mail me for directions. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as it is listed locally. Pickup only. Thanks.
